30 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2019 | Happy Halloween! One of the things I miss living in this wonderful community is the children coming door to door to trick or treat. This is one thing I will always miss. Our next meeting and support group will be on Thurs., Oct. 17 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There is no guest speaker this month. This gives you more time for the support group. We are a Caregiver Support Group for all caregivers. You do not have to be caring for someone with memory loss. We are here for everyone! Every few months we have a guest speaker sharing their knowledge on topics that will be of interest to you. Come have a cup of coffee and see what our meetings are all about. We have a wonderful program for the patients in the Arts & Crafts Room. We have fun! We sing, dance and sometimes we play Bingo. Most months we have live music. So drop your loved one off at the Arts & Crafts Room on your way to the meeting. We are a group of loving caregivers. We enjoy caring for your loved one so you can go to the meeting and not worry about them. If you have any questions, would like to learn more about Memory Loss, or would like reading material that we can loan you, call Diane at (951) 769- 0130, Doug at (951) 360-840-5559 or Anne at (951) 845-8700. Remember, we are here to help. Caregiver Support Group Our August entertainment was the Pink Ukeladies and Gents and we were able to see their evolution since their first ever performance in January of last year for the 80s Club. The size of their group is incredibly larger and they could only bring about half of their members to perform. They were wonderfully entertaining, had provided their music to our group and many chose to sing along. Most songs were well known and they included Tiny Bubbles (who doesn't want to sing along with that?!), Pearly Shells (remember Annette Funicello?), Eidelweiss, Could I have this dance, Jambalaya, and That's Amore!, among others. They dedicated That's Amore to me as I had just come back from Italy and I truly loved it, still being in the Italian mindset! They were a huge success. Thank you, Lily and your wonderful group! Our September entertainment will be our own Sun Lakes Notables. They are a favored group among our membership and they are always fabulous. Our get-togethers are the third Saturday of the month at the South Clubhouse at 3 pm. October will be the last one in the North Clubhouse on Oct. 19. Then we'll be back to the South Clubhouse again. If you would like to attend, or visit us, please get your reservation in by the 5th of the month to Donna Harrington (909) 561-5066. Your checks can be dropped off made out to 80's Plus Club at 5393 Riviera. Our dues are $10 yearly to be a member and our catered dinners are $11 per person. For information about the club call Barbara Finelly (951) 845-7904. Spouses and caregivers are welcome as well as visiting children or other out of town guests. Our goal is to make everyone welcome and provide a good time for all. 80s Plus Club
