Sun Lakes Follies
JACK LONDON — A TRIBUTE
Jack London is another in our series of California writers. One of his
favorite stories is about a giant dog called White Fang. This may have actually
been a wolf in wolf 's clothing. Jack spent time in the Klondike in a tiny cabin,
then the cabin was moved to Oakland without him in it. This was to a place
known as Jack London Square even though Jack was cool and not a square
at all. If you have a good dog story or a tale about a weird uncle come join
us at the Sun Lakes Creative Writers. In October we are back to our regular
schedule of first Monday (Oct. 7) and third Wednesday (Oct.16) in the Main
Clubhouse Multipurpose Room between 3 and 5 pm — whichever comes
first. Info, call Roger Smith, (951) 769-2808.
Prepare to be amazed at this year's edition of The Sun Lakes
Follies. It will be an evening you won't want to miss. This show
is going to have everything - singing, dancing, and yes, comedy.
Not only will I be performing my stand-up comedy, but I am
also looking forward to the opportunity of performing with
a new and upcoming young comic and new follies member,
Sheldon Kirschbaum, who I have been mentoring since he was
72 years old.
There isn't an element this show is missing and I'm not
just saying that because I'm in the show, I say that as a fan of
great talent. I'm truly fortunate to live in a community with
this much incredible talent. The Follies this year will be Fri.,
Nov. 8 and Sat., Nov. 9. Both shows begin at 7 pm. in the Main
Clubhouse Ballroom. Tickets are only $10 and go on sale Oct.
26. See you there. ~ Lloyd Friedman, Stand up Comic, Terrible
Golfer, and Sun Lakes Follies Club Treasurer
