| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2019 | 31 Club Business: Oct. 23 Annual Sun Lakes RV Club Pizza Party! Coming Up… Just a year ago, the spousal unit and I went to the October Sun Lakes RV Club Pizza Party to see what it was all about. We'd heard what a great club it was, but we needed to see for ourselves. We tried to sneak in to the party, but the people at the front door were so friendly checking us in and introducing us to members, before we knew it, we were at a table chatting with a few long-time members and a few curious newbies like ourselves. We all ate pizza while the club officers talked about the upcoming year full of trips and events, and members shared info, and the whole vibe was just so close and family like, I fell under their spell. Now I'm the Vice President, which means I write these articles, keep tabs on our storage inventory, and send cards out to members when good and not-so-good things happen. I feel on one hand like I just joined this crazy group of campers, storytellers, outdoor and indoor game players, barbequers, golfers, hikers, wine tasters, casino donators, and those lovable sit-around-and- BS'ers. On the other hand, I feel like I've been with these people forever. I see them in the community and sometimes get pulled into their fun, I see them in town, I follow some on Facebook, and it feels almost like a small town, knowing people, being friends, sharing camping memories, and knowing people have your back. Our annual pizza party is coming up Oct. 23, so you too have the chance to investigate this wonderful group and see if you want to make it a part of your life. Mark your calendar. You'll find great food and camaraderie at the event as well as hear what exploits are coming up. Remember, you don't have to own an RV to join and enjoy our activities. You can always rent an RV, have one put in place wherever we're going (if available), stay in cabins (if available), or stay in nearby hotels (there was one adjacent to our campground at our recent Zion trip and one on the grounds at the Pala Casino trip earlier this year.)
