These recipes will be emailed to our members. What a "Ghoulish Event" that is planned for Oct. 25 in the South Clubhouse at 11 am. This is your chance to design Halloween appetizers or treats, foods that show our membership's creativity. Some suggestions: Witch Finger Cookies, Meatball Mummies, Spider Pizza, Spooky Spaghetti, or Freaky Fries. Remember when Halloween was a kids event? Not any more. Happy Cookers is also having a costume contest. Let your imagination take flight; think of witches on brooms to get inspired. (Costumes are optional.) In November we will be sharing "Family Holiday Traditions." What favorite dish were you asked to bring to family gatherings? As these special food traditions are shared, this is a time for nostalgia and reminiscing how food played a bonding role in our celebrations. Happy Cookers wraps up an exceptional year of creative meetings with a very special "Toyland" Holiday Party on Thurs., Dec. 19. Start looking for gifts for children between the ages of one to 17 years old as part of the cost of attending this festive experience. Sun Lakers are generous all year, but there is something special about sharing our bounty during Hanukah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. Are you satisfied with your investment advisor? Would you like to feel comfortable trading stocks and possibly even options? Come join the Sun Lakes Investor Group. Some of our members invest on their own while others have advisors along with overseeing some of their own investments. We meet on Thursdays from 6 to 8 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. The Investor Group is led by Ajit Desai and Heidi Nyhoff. Ajit has been trading over several decades. He follows and teaches the CANSLIM methodology for stock selection and trading that was pioneered by William O'Neill, the founder of Investors Business Daily. We discuss stocks that our members are interested in, growth stocks that offer good returns, when to buy, when to sell, etc. Ajit also incorporates option trading to enhance portfolio returns. We look at and talk about real time numbers and pertinent information over the Internet during our meetings. We are tuned into market trends, and although no one has a crystal ball, it's important to have information to make wise or at least informed decisions. We do not invest as a group nor do we discuss dollar amounts of members portfolios or trades. That's your business, not ours. If this piques your "interest," come visit.
