The Garden Club Presents… Alice's Adventures in Wonderland! You are all invited to the Mad Hatter's Tea Party with Alice on Oct. 30 from 2 to 4:30 pm. Doors will open at 1:30 pm. I'm late, I'm late! For a very important date! No time to say "Hello, goodbye, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!" Don't you be late in getting your tickets, as there are a limited amount left. You can still purchase them in the Main Clubhouse lobby on Tuesdays: Oct. 1 and 8, from 10:30 to 1 pm, Oct. 15 and 22 from 2:30 to 5 pm. Thursdays: Oct. 3, from 10:30 am to 1 pm, Oct 17 and 22 from 2:30 to 5 pm. Both members and non-members are invited. Ticket prices are $25 pp. Join us as we fall down the rabbit hole together and enter the world of a little girl named Alice who is following a rabbit into a strange land. In this strange land you will enjoy our version of Alice's tea party, where you will discover the joy of tea, as presented by Lisa Kermizis Abraham with Bigelow Tea. "And what is the use of a book," thought Alice, "without pictures or conversation?" You will be enchanted with a reading from Lewis Carrol's book, Alice in Wonderland, as interpreted and performed by the Sun Lakes Playhouse. As if all this wasn't enough fun, we will have a sampling of the Queen's foods: Royal Finger Sandwiches, The Queen's Scones, The March Hare's Waldorf salad, The Cheshire Cat's Petit Fours, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum's Refreshment Table with hot tea, iced tea, water, and coffee, and a cash bar. "We're all mad here"… the Cheshire cat says to Alice in one of the most concise descriptions of the strange world we will find ourselves in as we fall down the rabbit hole. Unlike the world Alice left behind, "mad" isn't necessarily a bad thing. For those of you who come dressed in costumes, we hope that you embrace the side of you that is quirky and unpredictable, and maybe when you get back to reality, you'll want to take a little of that with you. There will be prizes awarded for the most fun guest costumes. "But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat, "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad." "How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here." See you at the party! Note: There is no general meeting in October, the Tea Party is the meeting. You don't have to be a gardener to join! Come and visit any time and see what we are all about. For membership contact Sherry Case at (951) 533-3584 or Linda Powers at (951) 769-3101. For general information contact President, Pam Mikkelsen at (951) 797-3080.
