| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2019 | 5 General Manager's Message By Rick Ruth For this month, I would like to write about neighbors. One "neighbor for life" is the golf course. In August of 2017, Roger Choi, the General Manager of the golf course passed away. Since Roger's passing, the Lee family representatives have turned over the day to day operations to Ray La Pointe. He and his staff have made significant improvements regarding course maintenance and we continue to correspond with him to address maintenance concerns from residents. Last month I wrote about a group of Four Seasons residents who use the third fairway to gather with friends and let their dogs run around off leash in the late afternoons. I received several positive responses from residents thanking me. On the other hand, several of the group members who participate were upset with some of the facts mentioned in the article. They asked to meet with me and when I met with them, they shared their concerns with the facts I stated. I reiterated to them and want to say all of those that walk the cart paths, the fact still remains: "If you did not pay to play golf, you are technically trespassing." The golf course management is requesting everyone's cooperation in honoring their request to not trespass on the cart paths and fairways. So, PLEASE make every effort to be a good neighbor and respect their request to not trespass. If you've had a new neighbor move in recently, please go over and introduce yourself. You might find you have some things in common. If you are the new neighbor, you can do the same! You are all neighbors in the best community around, the "Crown Jewel" of Hemet as it has been referred to. One note on our seal coat project… we are looking forward to finalizing the inspections this month and as soon as the contractor completes the seal coat repairs to the committee, management and the Board's satisfaction, our three year warranty period will begin. We are also working on publishing some industry information on the asphalt product and what to expect going forward. A couple of final reminders: Please obey the posted speed limit, pick up after your pets and slow down when entering the community so the gate arms have a chance to work properly. Thank you for your understanding, cooperation and being good neighbors. Happy Halloween! handyman tips Easy tips you can do to keep things working in your home. Refrigerator – freezer – this & that Your refrigerator and freezer has door insulation around the entire door with magnets to keep the cold in and heat out. Once a year you should wash both the insulation and the inside of the unit where the insulation adheres to seal in the cold. Use any dish washing liquid and a soft brush if the insulation has grooves in it. Dry with a terry cloth towel. Note: also wash the insulation around your house doors. Cardboard tubes (from rolls of paper towels, toilet paper& gift wrappings). Save them for: cloth napkins without creases by wrapping them around the tube, stuff looped electrical extension cords in to small tubes, to pack jewelry- pantyhose or socks – cords and other small items for vacation trips – roll-up & store important papers that should not be folded. And many other uses. Put styrofoam packing in the bottom of your flower pots for drainage. To make your cut flowers bloom longer, add two tablespoons of vinegar plus three tablespoons of sugar to each quart of warm water. In the July issue of the Herald I reported how to oil your garage door hinges and rollers. I suggested using WD 40, but there are three other lubricants that work as well or better. 1. WD 40 lithium (thanks Nita) 2. Clopay's – prolube (thanks Denny) 3. Trigger spray for guns (thanks Cecil)
