Once Again OCT. 29, 5 - 7 PM: Our very own Four Seasons Hemet oldies rock band, comprised of residents from our community. Plus there will be a Halloween Costume Contest! Music on the Plaza Finally, it's fall! My favorite season with Fall colors, falling leaves, frosty nip in the air…. wait, I must have floated off in la la land somewhere for a minute. But fall does include two of my favorite holidays: Halloween and Thanksgiving. Speaking of Halloween, don't forget our last Music on the Plaza for the year on Oct. 29. We will have "Once Again Band" playing and a costume contest with prizes. Costumes are optional, but lots of fun. So show me your creativity and lets have some fun together! We have the 6th Annual Car Show coming up on Oct. 19. It will be a big event in the parking lot. The classic trolley will be running throughout the community for your transportation to and from the event. There will be food and sweets vendors, live music, and lots of great cars to see. The blood bank will be here, so please consider donating. Admission is always FREE for this event, but we would appreciate a donation of one or more non-perishable food items for the Community Pantry. Oct. 30, we will have a special display in honor of Veteran's Day. This is a display that will be showing daily from Oct. 30 through Nov. 5, from 8 am to 7 pm each day. We will have a special opening ceremony on Oct. 30, so watch for more information coming by email blast. More information is on the next page about this display called "Remembering Our Fallen." Please invite your friends and family to attend. Starting Oct. 1, tickets will be on sale for the first ever Four Seasons Lucky Lady Casino Night on Nov. 9. You can read more about it on page 11 here in the Herald. A very fun night is being planned by your Social Committee and you won't want to miss it. As always, keep an eye on the email blasts for very important information regarding happenings at Four Seasons Hemet. Also, make sure you look at all the fliers in the lobby — take them home as reminders. See you around the Lodge. A Note From Your Activities Director By Louise Ceccarelli By Myrna James Clarence Meade is the older brother of Carl Meade who passed away (two years ago). Since Clarence is a very high functioning autistic, Carl had him live at his house very successfully. Clarence does not drive. He is a math wiz and keeps score at Mexican Train. At first life was difficult and sad for him. This is the time when some members of the community stepped in to give him support. Tami Baginski, who lives across the street, would take him grocery shopping. Bill Bernatz drives him to Wednesday night Bingo and to Tuesday night Mexican Train. Lynda Haynes prepared some meals for him and taught to cook hamburgers on the stove top. She took him shopping, had him join in for some holiday events, and invited him along to restaurants. She also took him for hair cuts, and helped out when he was having trouble with his phone system. Since then, he has become less shy about using the phone. When his nephew took the dog Oreo that he and Carl had to the pound, Linda shared her dog with him whenever she has an event, which made him very happy. What a great example of the spirit of this community in this situation. Clarence Meade & The Spirit Of Community
