44 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2019 The Jewish Cultural Club is back in action After a bit of a hiatus, the JCC is ready to launch a fall filled with activities. Make sure and mark Nov. 17 on your calendars. On Nov. 17 at 8 am in The Lodge lobby, tickets will go on sale for our giant Hanukkah (or Chanukah, an alternative spelling) bash to be held on Dec. 17 at 5 pm. Tickets are $7, and include the foods and wine tasting. Seating is limited, so don't wait to pick up your tickets.. Later that day we will be screening the original film production of Mel Brooks' career-launching movie The Producers. Film Night, Mel Brooks' The Producers: A serious look at a very funny movie on Nov. 17: At 5 pm, we will have a potluck dessert and coffee get together before our 6 pm screening of Mel Brooks' hysterical film, The Producers. The Producers is a about a failed Broadway play producer (Zero Mostel as Max Bialystock) who hatches a get-rich-quick scheme to get rich producing a tasteless flop. Along with his accountant (Gene Wilder as Leo Bloom), they set off on an adventure that takes many unexpected twists and turns. The film was so successful, Brooks followed it up in 2005 with a live Broadway musical version. The show will be followed by a discussion about the obvious stereotypes at which Brooks pokes fun. We are asking for RSVPs to make sure we have enough seats in The Lodge Theater. It will be a fun and interesting evening. There is no charge and everyone is welcome. You don't need to be a member of the JCC to participate. Please RSVP to perry. goldstein@gmail.com. Uncle Fischel's Music, Comedy, & Food Extravaganza on Dec. 17: It will be the biggest Hanukkah party ever, here at Four Seasons. There will be fabulous Hanukkah foods, a kosher wine tasting, Israeli dancing, Hanukkah music performed by the fabulous Four Seasons Singers, and a fun presentation about the Jewish holidays by our own Uncle Fischel. The evening will be topped off with a traditional Hora circle and the lighting of our brand new five-foot menorah. And best of all, Uncle Fischel will explain why there are so many different ways to spell Hanukkah (or Chanukah). We know it's confusing… it confuses us as well. It's a presentation you won't want to miss. ~ Perry Goldstein Jewish Cultural Club
