FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2019 45 Women's Evening Bible Study "October is a hallelujah! Reverberating in my body year-round…." ~ John Nichols. Hallelujah is used to rejoice and praise the Lord for all the blessings he gives each day. The blessing of nature's changing seasons and the glorious array of colorful fall leaves deserves a hallelujah or two. In August we started a series on the Parables of Jesus. The stories Jesus taught will give us practical application for our daily lives. In September we studied "The Rich Fool" and "Watchfulness." In October we will remain in the book of Luke with "The Wise and Foolish Servants" and "Unfruitful Fig tree." Sound interesting? Come and join us in The Lodge Game Room at 6:30 pm on Thursdays, Oct. 3 and 24. It's a wonderful time of study, fellowship and prayer. A sign-up sheet is available in The Lodge and I will contact you with more information and answer your questions. Looking forward to meeting you at our next Bible study. "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the works of His hands." Psalms 19:1. ~ Mary Baer, baerhuggy@ icloud.com Life Guide Bible Study This month we will continue our study of the Parables of Jesus, led by Doc Sellars. The parables illustrate some of Jesus' most important teachings and have valuable insights for us in our faith journey and spiritual growth. We invite all residents to join us for fellowship, discussion, and learning from God's Word. We also support each other in prayer. We meet in the third section of The Lodge Ballroom every Tuesday evening at 7 pm. Please contact Doc or Letha Sellars with any questions or comments at (951) 797-3302 or docletha72@gmail.com. ~ Doc Sellars On Aug. 30 we had a little birthday celebration for an amazing member of our group: Jane Pihl. She turned 102 on that day! (See above photo of smiling Jane.) If you see this amazing woman walking to or from Bible study, give her a happy birthday shout-out! We have been busy studying about Paul and the messages from God he was inspired to write for us today. In Ephesians 1-2 Paul references "other churches." We received maps showing the seven churches in Asia (present day Turkey), which churches were discussed in Revelation Chapters 2 and 3. We were given homework to determine what specifically Christ spoke to each of those churches. The resulting discussion was spot on and fulfilling, and most of the ladies took up the challenge and did their required reading. Also, the ladies were challenged to memorize Romans 15:13 and Ephesians 2:8-9. It's so rewarding to see these good women take up this challenge and complete it! (Of course, prizes were involved too….) We learned in Ephesians 3-4 that the Dispensation of Grace is the sixth and last of God's dispensations to be completed before the Tribulation. Today, in 2019, we are living in the Dispensation of Grace, the period of time in which God is completing His church. We had a wonderful discussion about God's dispensations, and received a helpful chart of all six dispensations. Our first lesson in September was on Ephesians 5-6, which encompassed discussing the full armor of God. It was really eye-opening to revisit the significance of each of the pieces of armor of God we have been given. What a blessing! We also received several handouts that were uplifting as well. We are continuing our study of the writings of Paul given to him by God for us to benefit from today. If you are interested in joining an awesome group of Godly women, please come by the Game Room any Friday from 10:30 to 11:45 am. We will welcome you with warm and gracious hearts. ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine; egcellent@msn.com "Believe…" Women's Bible Study Intercessory Prayer group Shalom intercessors, friends, and neighbors!
