46 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | OCTOBER 2019 "Everybody loved Greg!" Gregory Ervin Lee was born in Mobile, Alabama, on Feb. 7, 1964. He moved to California in the 1980s with his mother, Frances M. Lee, and siblings. Greg lost his mother and was adopted by Henry and Jessie Ellis who live in Chula Vista, CA. Greg always referred to them as 'Pops' and 'Momma Sugar.' Greg was a Maintenance Supervisor for the County of San Bernardino for over 22 years. His philosophy on life was to keep God first and always treat people with honor and respect. He was humble, kind, and easy- going. He was also an avid reader, history buff and writer. He loved music, dancing and of course talking. Greg used to say, "Hit me on the hip," which meant, call me! Those who knew him knew his "swag." He had exquisite taste in fashion and was an impeccable dresser. Greg resided in Four Seasons with his sister, Shairon Nevills. He was a member of the Life Guide Bible Study Group and the Dominoes Club. Greg passed away on Friday, Aug. 9; he was 55 years old. He is survived by a beautiful 19-year-old son, and many siblings, nieces, and nephews. A celebration to honor Greg is planned for Sunday, Oct. 13 in the Ballroom at 4 pm. Everyone is invited to enjoy food, dancing, and reflection. Please RSVP by Friday, Oct. 4, by calling Wanda Valentine at (951) 544-1606 or Roxie Elliott at (951) 769-2517. A thank you is in order to club member Jane Gentry who spearheaded our annual Childhelp® campaign. This year, we were asked to provide assistance with the intake process. When a new child arrives at Childhelp® Merv Griffin Village in Beaumont, they're given a bicycle helmet, a stuffed animal, and a backpack with school supplies. Thanks to the wonderful residents of Four Seasons, the AACC was able to deliver the much needed supplies. Upcoming event(s) "Jazz Under the Stars" will be held at the Amphitheatre on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 7 pm. This event is FREE and open to all Four Seasons residents! Tickets are on sale now for the AACC 2019 Annual Christmas Gala held on Dec. 14. The cost to attend is $55 per person. AACC meetings are the first Monday of the month in the Card Room at 6 pm. Our discussions at the club's monthly meetings can range over a wide variety of topics including emergency operations; amateur radio news; the sun and its effects on radio waves; and even social events (the annual Christmas Party is fast approaching). In the past several months, we've welcomed new members and provided training to help them obtain their licenses, and advised them about buying radio equipment. If you are interested in becoming a new member, come to our monthly meeting on the last Friday of every month at 10 am in the RCN Conference Room — we'd be happy to see you! ~Jim Peterson, jimsally@hotmail.com RADIO CLUB Radio operating positions in the Radio Room at the RCN
