We are an informal group that meets on Friday nights at 6 pm on the Palm Court, weather permitting. We will be listening to music from the 60s and 70s, like Led Zeppelin, The Eagles and Traffic. Everyone is welcome — we only ask that you bring an appetizer, main dish or dessert to serve eight people. BRIDGE LESSONS Bridge lessons are on Mondays (beginners and intermediate) 10 am to 12 pm with Kaye Preston. We also have Wednesdays, for beginners and intermediate, from 10 am to 12 pm with Donna Stark (760) 842-5842. GOLF CLASS A golf class is offered Thursdays from 11 am until 12 pm with Dori O'Rourke. Dori emphasizes techniques to improve your short game in putting, chipping, and sand. A flyer with more information will be available in the lobby of the Clubhouse. Please call Dori at (760) 703-4913 if you have any questions. MAHJONG Resident, Weiling Mao, is offering 16 tile Mahjong lessons every Monday from 3:30 to 5:30 pm in the Clubhouse. She teaches the most common Mahjong played by the Chinese in Asia and America. It is very easy to learn and it is fun. Most importantly, it is great exercise for your brain. Any questions please call Weiling at (760) 289-8082. MEDITATION & STRETCH Classes are Tuesdays from 1 to 2 pm. Take this time to learn how to quiet your mind while resting in silence. MORNINGS WITH DORI Dori O'Rourke has started a series of classes (Reclaim Your Movement) designed for 50+ Men and Women on Thursdays at 1 pm, and 2:30 pm. You'll use easy, gentle, 100 percent pain-free movement lessons to improve your breathing, balance, strength, mobility and more! This is not a fitness class. If you are interested please contact Dori to reserve your spot at (760) 703-4913 or Dori@sportsafter50.org. YOGA Early birds! Start your day with an hour of yoga. Join us in the Ladies Club Room at 7:30 am Tuesdays and Thursdays. Bring your yoga mat! Call Janice Hart at (760) 639-0152 for more information. Cost: Free. GENTLE YOGA Our resident, Anna Grinshpun, will be your instructor. Please bring the following: personal yoga mat and a big towel or light blanket. Join Anna and her class every Tuesday at 9:15 am at the Clubhouse to get a great start to your day! TAI CHI CLASSES Anyone interested in beginning Tai Chi? Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8 to 9 am. Please contact Lai Mei Strauss at (760) 509-4973. It will be instructed using a DVD. Cost: Free. SWIM & WELLNESS The OHCC Swim and Wellness Club is offering several activities to the community. Mondays and Thursdays from 9 until 10 am enjoy Functional Aqua. PARKINSON'S SUPPORT GROUP Join the Parkinson's Support Group for information, discussion, and "Feel Good Sessions." We meet monthly on the third Friday of the month in the Art Room at 4:15 pm.
