A wonderful gathering was enjoyed by the 10 ukulele groups performing, a nutritious breakfast was served, and lunch was enjoyed by the fireplace in the large, rustic, wood-paneled cabin. The group is honored to participate in the Sun Lakes Chorale Christmas Program on Nov. 22 and 23, and are practicing diligently for their part in the performance. Mark your calendars as it is sure to be wonderful show. The group is back in the Main Clubhouse for Monday practices. Yay! Beginners introduction with emphasis on chord progression from 12:45 to 1:15 pm. The Country Western dance this month will be Thurs., Nov. 21, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom from 7 to 9 pm. Come and enjoy good music and dancing. Line dance instruction will be in the South Clubhouse on Mondays, Nov. 4, 11, 18 and 25, from 7 to 8:30 pm. It's not too early to start thinking about the New Year's Eve dance at the North Clubhouse. We will again have a catered dinner with lots of fun and dancing. We start at 6:30 pm and then celebrate a Texas New Year at 10 pm. Check our flyer and sign up as we do have limited space and have filled up early in recent years. We think it's the best deal you will find. Country Western Dance Dinner Dance Club Since November is a "dark month" for us, meaning we will have no dance, we look anxiously toward our Christmas dinner and dance on Thurs., Dec. 12. It will come earlier in the month, so we need to be aware of getting our sign-up sheets in earlier then usual. In fact, we are listing the December menu so you can start to place your sign-up sheets into the box at 5836 Indian Canyon Dr. (Anne Wood's house) starting Nov. 25, but no later than Dec. 3. The doors will open at 5:30 pm and the music, provided by the Sophisticats, will start at 6 pm. This is a formal evening making it very special. Our menu will begin with a red pepper soup and fresh warm buns, followed by one of the following entrées: • Top sirloin (med. rare) with roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables for $26 • Chicken Marsala with roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables for $24 • Vegetable lasagna for $22 We will complete the dinner with a yummy cheesecake with raspberry drizzle. A meal fit for a king! As we await our December dinner dance, have a wonderful Thanksgiving either here or away with family and friends. We all have so much for which to be thankful! Beginning class started last month. Every Tuesday and Thursday in the North Clubhouse from 11 am to 12 pm. Monthly classes are $30. Practice shoes available, performing NOT required.
