| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2019 | 3 From the President's Desk By Sandra Moyer The holidays are fast approaching. The Clubhouse refresh will be completed and ready for all the holiday parties that are planned. Some important dates to mark on your calendar. Thurs., Nov.13, 6 pm in the Administration Office, the Board will present information about duties and responsibilities of a Board Member and follow with a question and answer segment. We hope this will be beneficial to those considering running for the Board. Our Open Board Meeting this month will be Wed., Nov.20, 6:30 pm in the Ballroom. In December, we will have an open meeting on Dec. 11 at 6:30 pm in the Ballroom. We will be dark the rest of the month. Most of you know we have had several thefts occur in Sun Lakes. On our end, we have increased presence of Community Patrol, added additional cameras and where needed, replaced some cameras with more up-to-date technology. People are quick to play the blame game but we are focusing on catching the people doing this and we are working closely with Banning PD and Securitas. Please understand that you are responsible for your safety and belongings. "If you see something suspicious, say something." If appropriate call 911 first, then our Community Patrol. Also please check your guest list. Remember if they are on your permanent list, they will be let into the community even if you do not inform the main gate in advance. I brought this up before, but I think it is time to form Neighborhood Watch Programs. The best place to start is to contact your District Delegate. Times are changing and unfortunately not all for the good. Securitas cannot be everywhere all the time. Help solve the problem not point a finger. I want to thank Linda Spaulding for all the hard work and dedication she gave to Sun Lakes during her tenure on this Board. Linda was also instrumental in the Clubhouse refresh. She has decided to resign as of Nov.1 and we wish her the best and I am sure she will now enjoy taking a lot of RV trips. Wishing all of you a happy Thanksgiving!
