50 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2019 | Lady Executive Golf Welcome to Lady Executive Golfers (LEGS)! We are a 9-hole club on the Executive Course. We play weekly on Tuesday mornings with mixed play, fun scrambles and a monthly tournament. In addition, we participate with other clubs for 18-hole tournaments and "away games" a few times during the year. Beginning Oct. 1, we will meet at 8:30 am with a tee time at 9 am. The third Tuesday of each month is our monthly meeting and lunch ($10) at the South Clubhouse. Guests welcome! For lunch information, call Evon Montague, (951) 769-3279. We emphasize fun and socializing while striving to improve our game and become more familiar with the Rules of Golf. Join us! Women's Golf We play a variety of weekly golf games and scheduled tournaments on our Championship course every Thursday morning and on the first Saturday of each month. The first Thursday game of each month is a Scramble or a Shamble. Afterward, we gather in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom for a luncheon followed by our general meeting. In addition to our regular weekly games we have five major tournaments scheduled each year, including our Member-Guest Invitational Tournament and the Extravaganza, which is co-ed and played with members of the Sun Lakes Men's Golf Club. Games and Tournaments are flighted. Our annual membership fee for 2020 is $70 which includes membership with SCGA which provides your GHIN handicap. To obtain a GHIN handicap number, you will need to play five 18-hole rounds on the Championship course (if you do not have a GHIN number or if it's not current). Our Handicap Director will calculate your handicap from your scorecards, and you'll be ready to hit the links. Lady Niners The holiday season is moving in rapidly. With the cooler weather we all feel like playing more golf. We all enjoyed our tournament with the women golfers on Oct. 31. Lots of fun was had by everyone. Our November calendar has only three Thursdays for organized golf since Thanksgiving will be on the fourth Thursday of the month. November is the month that we need to pay our annual dues. A check for $40 needs to be made out to "Lady Niners" and placed in the Niners lock box in the pro shop. Your dues needs to be paid by the 15th of the month. Lady Niners enjoy nine holes of golf every Thursday. We all carry a GHIN handicap, thus giving us the opportunity to play in organized tournaments. We enjoy Scrambles, organized play with different members, and we sometimes enjoy one of our fun rounds. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Executive Men's Golf Happy Thanksgiving! The Executive Course has 18 holes with six challenging par fours, and lots of water. We have a tournament on the third Friday of the month followed by a catered lunch in the North Clubhouse. The tournament for the month of November is a two-Man Best Net (Pick Your Partner). The Executive Men's Club meets on Friday mornings at 8:30 for a 9 am shotgun start. Membership is open to all Sun Lakes male residents and all levels of golfers are welcome. Come join us! Are you interested in sharpening your short game skills? Do you enjoy having a relaxed game of golf? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may wish to join our Saturday Morning Golf Group. We play on the Executive Course. Our membership includes men and women with a large range of handicaps. Our members share a love of the game. We have shotgun starts. Most of the year, October through June, the check in time is 8:30 am with a 9 am shotgun. In the summer, July through September, the check in time is 8 am with a 8:30 am shotgun. We hold monthly tournaments, an annual Club Championship competition, and quarterly dinners. Membership application forms are available in the North Pro Shop. Annual dues are only $15.
