"With each sunrise we are given a chance for a new beginning!" Celebrations of Life/Memorials: We recently received word that Jack Fitzgerald had passed away. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, Terry, family and friends. "Grief, I've learned is really just love. It's all the love you want to give but cannot. All of that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go." It is true that we share a little piece of ourselves every time we have a Celebration of Life. The family of a loved one who has passed allows us to come into their life and we honor their loss by our service. What a privilege to be able to be a small part of their family for this short time. We would be remiss if we did not also thank The Lodge desk attendants for their role in making our tasks so much easier. We have found that, over these many years, it is the desk attendants who have gone beyond their special service to get our tasks completed in a timely manner. Team Sunshine thanks those "warriors" at the front desk for their courtesy and efforts in helping us complete our tasks. A special request to the community. If you know of a resident in your neighborhood who has suffered a loss, please ensure that Team Sunshine is alerted. The services we provide are many. A card and a loving and caring phone call can make a big difference. So often these folks suffer this grief alone. We are here to provide some support that lets them know "we care." Thank you. Sharing Our Team: From time to time, we hope to share the individual teams that make up Team Sunshine. We often say that there is no one individual who makes all this happen. The Ladies Who Call: The four ladies pictured below are Marietta Ruppaner, Janelle Budd, Kathy Poss, and lead Fabian Yaeger, (not pictured: Anne Balensiefer) are the Sunshiners who make telephone calls to residents who are dealing with a health concern or loss. Thank you for your service to our Four Seasons residents and Team Sunshine. Resource Meeting Reminder: A Caregiver Support Group meets the first Tuesday of each month from 10:30 to 11:30 am at 8190 Parry Drive in Four Seasons. Please join us for this very interesting and informative dialogue on "helps" when you are caring for a loved one in your home. Thank you. Team Sunshine Information: Please fill out a *NEEDS* Form at The Lodge Front Desk if you know of someone who has recently lost a loved one. This form can also be used for various kinds of needs assistance. In case you prefer not to call but would like us to know of a need, this form will record your concern and will be passed on to the appropriate Team Sunshiner. Medical Equipment: We do have donated/used medical equipment that we deliver and pick up from residents. Residents who request medical equipment are required to sign a waiver form. Return of medical equipment is requested by contacting Jeanne Lincoln (765- 7112). We have enlarged the medical equipment team to include: Rose Harvey, Donna Morrell and Patty Jones. Our Prayer Warriors: Marietta Ruppaner conducts a prayer circle once a month to pray for our residents in need. All are welcome to attend the prayer circle. Just give Marietta a call and she'll give you the date, time and place. Also, if you have a prayer request, get in touch with Marietta or place your prayer request in the Prayer Box in the MPR. We are thankful for the service they give to our community. Closing Thoughts: "I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let's face it, friends make life a lot more fun." ~ Charles R.
