President's Message
By Angela Takemoto
My goodness, how can it be November
already? It's time to get out all those holiday
goodies!
Well, this month we had a very early
deadline for submitting our articles for the
newsletter, so I don't have any info to give you
from the Board meeting.
So instead I thought I'd give you some
updates on the various committees I'm part
of.
I'm the Liaison to the Landscape
Committee, and they are working on several
issues: replanting the slopes around Leisure
Village Way, revising the official plant list
to include more drought tolerant plants,
adding fresh plants in the Palm Court area,
and looking into adding responsibility to the
existing IPM (Integrated Pest Management)
subcommittee. And they also review
homeowner requests for tree work. They
keep busy, I must say.
I joined a number of ad hoc committees
as well.
The Cox Communications Committee is
working with Cox to put a new agreement in
place for our bulk TV service. The goal is to
reduce the price and offer more services. We
are making good progress there!
The Interior Design Committee continues
to look at the details surrounding the new
design, selecting lighting units, paint colors,
and artwork, all of which will enhance the
look of our clubhouse. The three general
contractors have submitted their proposals,
and the Board will be reviewing these in
detail.
The Lanai Committee met to review
current status and have determined that we
need to interview some of the users of the
Lanai, in order to understand the various
needs, and get input on how they would like
to see us proceed. So, we will be meeting
with representatives of several clubs in the
coming weeks.
Each of your Board members participates
in one or more committees, so we are all
busy working on issues that will improve and
enhance our lifestyle here in the wonderful
community.
I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
