Papercrafting Club
The Papercrafting Club has been busy learning new and creative
ways to create handmade cards this summer.
This month several of the classes centered on "folding" techniques.
Kathy Wilkerson demonstrated an elegant Drapery Fold card. The
possibilities were endless - from fancy to industrial - depending on
the look you want to achieve and the paper you choose to use.
Jaime Albano demonstrated yet another technique to create a
card holder. The holder created by folding a large piece of double-
sided decorative paper will hold four small tube cards or gift cards
and makes a wonderful gift for friends who love to give and receive
handmade greetings.
Iris folding is a simple paper-folding technique that originated
in Holland. Color-coordinated strips of folded paper are taped into
place over a pattern, creating a spiraling design that resembles the
iris of an eye or camera.
MaryAnn Barbee will be demonstrating a Fall Themed Iris Folding
class this month.
Feel free to stop by the Art Room any Friday (8:45 am to 3 pm) or
Wednesday (12:30 to 4:30 pm) and see these crafty ladies at work.
