Contact: Mike Grasso - 951.929.8904, mgrasso916@gmail.com. Mondays, 3 pm, Stonecreek Room. Book Group – Hooked on Books If you enjoy reading and often wish that the people you know had read the same book so you could compare your thoughts and feelings with them, then Hooked on Books is for you. The group meets monthly on the fourth Wednesday at 1:30 pm in the Silverwood (Arts and Crafts) Room to discuss that month's selection. Books are selected by a voting process in October and November, and final selections are announced at the group's annual Christmas potluck. Members provide a short description of one or two books they have read and enjoyed, a ballot is drawn up, and the top 11 vote getters are selected for the following year. If your book is selected, you will be expected to provide treats at the meeting (often based on something in the book) and provide a group discussion guide. Since so many books have these guides now, this is not very burdensome. Discussions are casual and relaxed (this isn't your high school English class), and you may speak as little or as much as you wish. Many people say they only want to read what they want to read, not what someone else has selected. But you may be surprised when you are introduced to new books and new authors that you would never have read or found on your own. Contacts: Cookie Mathes - 951.246.2975. Fourth Wednesday, 1:30 pm, Silverwood Room. Bridge You're welcome to join and we'll teach you. Contact: Beryl Holcomb - 530.300.6808. Fridays, 1 pm, Deergrass Room. 20 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | NOVEMBER 2019
