46 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2019 Step It Up Line Dancing Country Line Dancing A group of dancers went to the Brandin' Iron Nightclub recently. Many were there for the first time. We all had such a good time dancing with strangers to the songs and dances we have been working on in class. This was our first group outing, but I am sure there will be more in the future. Have you ever asked yourself what makes some people our age seem younger and some seem older? Yes, it can be hairstyles, clothing and illnesses, but mostly it is attitude. If you keep busy, which is easy to do here, and active, you feel younger. You feel included and most people are happier. We are so lucky here to have four great dance groups to choose from. Dancing is so good for you, try one of these groups. If you don't like it, try another. Chances are one will get you excited and involved. Dancing is a fun way to exercise, laughing along with other people and enjoying good music. It stimulates the brain as well as the feet. You have to concentrate to learn new steps. Dancing improves coordination and balance which we really need as we age. So, stay young… take up dancing! There will be no dance classes after Dec. 17. If line dancing is on your bucket list, come join us in January, even if you only want to learn two to three dances for a wedding or a party. You will be glad you did. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! ~ Martha Franck, (714) 345-8588 It's that busy time of the year as we celebrate the holidays. We had a great time at the WII Bowling/ line dance party on Oct. 11. Diane Martinez remained the Hula Hoop champion for the third time even with tough competition from Linda Miller, Brenda Florio, and Bonnie Chappell. Joy Collins ended up as our new WII Bowling champion with a high game of 179 against Rocket Spinosa who also did a great job to get into the final round. Some of the dancers are practicing for the upcoming holiday show which will be held in The Lodge Ballroom on Dec. 6 and 7. We hope to see you all there! We have recently learned a few new dances that seem to be crowd favorites, with one dance that can be danced as a single or as a couple. Our classes are held on Mondays at 12:30 pm for LD 101 (entry level) and beginner/intermediate at 1:30 pm. Hope to see you sometime, we'll leave the light on for ya! ~ Janine Rohrbacker, (949) 326-3133 A group of dancers enjoyed an outing to the Brandin' Iron
