12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | December 2019 | May I open this last Bistro article for 2019 by wishing you, my favorite reader (YOU, being the one who reads my monthly offering) a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Merry Kwanzaa and a very blessed happy holiday season. I cannot think of a better reason to be jolly! Our lucky winners of the Bistro's "Sunday Brunch for Two" are Bob and Linda Frahm. I understand they are fairly newcomers to Four Seasons, so it's a nice welcome. Their ticket was drawn by Cliff Post at the BOD meeting on Oct. 23. December is always a busy month, and this one is no different. We have scheduled many events celebrating holiday gatherings of friends as well as two special thank you dinners for volunteers, working with the Hemet Police and Hemet Hospice. What a nice way to show appreciation to these generous people so giving of their time. Speaking of volunteers, do you ever wonder why Four Seasons looks great, is green, well maintained and has not had to raise the association dues? May I tell you how I feel? We are like a tiny town of 1,100 homes. We have people, at no cost to us, safeguarding our property, its buildings and its appearance. There are others overseeing and maintaining recreational facilities and equipment, (pool and hot tub, tennis, pickleball, shuffleboard and bocce courts, billiards), teachers of awareness for our safety and crisis preparedness. We are grateful to have a Bistro open full time, and a chef willing to work every day to make your dining at the Bistro and group events everything you could hope it could be. If you'd prefer less crowds, check out our comfortable, current and well stocked library for your quiet time. You may embrace the opportunity to be as social as you want to be by joining in on the many special events orchestrated though out the year. Yup, all this because of more than 100 volunteers. I've heard if you want to get something done, ask a retired person! I know last month was Thanksgiving and I'm hoping it carries over all through this new year. Thank someone that helps make your life in Four Seasons less worrisome. Maybe things aren't done quite as you think they should be, but either be "thankful" or "volunteer and make it better."
