situations such as fires and power outages that face us
here in Southern California, EPAP recommends that you
register your telephone numbers with the Riverside
County Reverse 911 Alert System. That way, you will
receive up-to-the-minute warnings and/or evacuation
alerts from CalFire when danger is imminent.
Go to rivcoready.org to register your landlines and cell phones for
911 alerts from Riverside county. To register with the city
of Banning to receive alerts, go to nixle.com.
Another service that has just become available is the
"My Shake" app for your cell phone. It will give you an
alert when an earthquake is about to hit our area, as well
as anywhere in the world. Download it free from the App
Store on your cell phone.
