Veteran's Day: As in past years we had an exciting Annual OHCC Veteran's Day celebration on Nov. 11 in Abravanel Hall. The well attended event was coordinated by Donna Russell, and we were again entertained by the Rancho Buena Vista band and the El Camino High School ROTC Cadets color guard. Holiday Party: Our annual Village Vets Holiday Party, will be held on Dec. 15 in Abravanel Hall. Doors will open at 5 pm. There will be a fantastic dinner catered by Bobby's Hideaway, served family style with two hot appetizers, salad, chargrilled salmon in lemon dill cream sauce, Bayou chicken, beef medallions with mushrooms in red wine sauce, mashed sweet potatoes, green beans almandine and a dessert platter. Also, great music by The Musicstation for your dancing pleasure. Sparkling cider and soda is available or BYOB. We are planning to host about 20 active military personnel, single and spouses, two at each table. Sponsorship for military personnel is always welcomed. You can reserve for tables of eight, or any smaller number, with two military at each table. The price per person will be $30 for members and $35 for non-members. We will be accepting checks and reservations through Dec. 5 at the front desk in Abravanel Hall. Please mark checks for holiday party and put them into the Village Vets envelope. All residents are invited. Do you need a temporary loan of medical equipment? Helping Hands maintains an inventory of wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, canes and shower chairs for people living in Ocean Hills Country Club. Call one of the volunteers listed at the end of this article and we will deliver to your door at no cost to you. You can help a neighbor in OHCC by donating a clean, serviceable item that you are no longer using to Helping Hands. Check your storage areas for the items listed in this article.
