| OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2019 | 9 Happy holidays to all! As we come to the end of the year, the Library Association would like to thank all of our volunteers who work in our beautiful library. Not only do they staff the library five days a week, but each one has an additional job such as making sure our work calendar is up to date, keeping job descriptions up to date, ordering new books, covering new books, and much more. Bravo, ladies! Important Date: The date of the "Holiday Readers Afternoon" is Sun., Dec. 1, at 2 pm in the library. This reading is for adults only and has become quite popular. Although it is free, you must sign up at the front desk so proper arrangements can be made for seating. Stories, poems, and songs for the winter, Christmas, and Hanukkah will be presented. Dues for library membership are only $15 per household per year. If you are a newcomer or long time resident who would like to join, we have a deal for you. If you pay now, we will include December 2019 and all of 2020! Please consider supporting this worthwhile endeavor. For those of you who are already members, it is not too early to write your check. You can give it to a librarian or to the front desk. We thank you for your support. As you all know, much renovation will be taking place in the OHCC Clubhouse in 2020. The library will not be renovated, however, all the work going on will impact the library. We do not have any specifics, times, or dates, but there will be times the library will have to be closed as it will be inaccessible to users. We will keep you up to date as soon as we are given any information from the HOA. Our patience will be rewarded with a lovely updated Clubhouse. Thank you to all who have donated their used paperbacks. It is much appreciated. We still are in need of paperbacks, so keep them coming. The library is open for member checkouts Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 am to 12 pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 pm. The open shelves are available anytime the Clubhouse is open.
