Our November club meeting went very well. It was our end of the
year awards night which focused on recognizing and giving awards
to the many volunteers who provided needed services and to the
members who completed the most sailings. Our 2019 officers shown
above, were and Commodore, Forrest Newburg; Vice Commodore:
Allan Paloutzian; Treasurer, Evy Sanfilippo; Secretary, Sally Booth;
and Fleet Captain Jim Barbee.
Our club treasurer Evy Sanfilippo was especially recognized for
her outstanding work over the past 13 years. She may hold the OHCC
record for the longest term of holding the same club officer's position.
Congrats Evy.
The "Eight Bells and All's Well "Trophy (see above made by
Commodore Forrest) was awarded to those with the most sailings in
2019. The winners were Captain, Jim Barbee; First Mate, Larry Sea;
and crew members Paula and Chris Burdy.
Captain Daniel Sansoni, Gloria Loucif, Carrie McBride, and Ros
Nesler were awarded "The Great Grog and Grub Trophy "for their
outstanding effort in hosting and organizing the costume party of the
year… "A Night at the Tropicana." Well done Larbi Loucif!
Those of you who would enjoy sailing but have put it off too long.
Come see us on Do Dues Day at our table and get on board.
Our meetings will be held every other month starting with
February 2020 on the first Tuesday and a hosted bar of wine, beer and
appetizers are provided for your evening enjoyment. Looking forward
to seeing you for an exciting year ahead, both on the water and under
sail or at parties and excursion on land. "Cast off all lines and prepare
