On Dec. 6, the Late Bloomers Garden Club enjoyed the sprawling, lush acreage of Grand Traditions in Fallbrook. One would never guess winter's chill was upon us as the weather cooperated with brilliant sunshine. After strolling the gardens, we shared a holiday toast and lunch on the Veranda of the Beverly Mansion. The new year brings a new time for our club to meet. For 2020 we will be meeting every second Monday of the month at 1 pm in the Arts and Crafts Room, beginning on Jan. 13. Off-site excursions will be announced in advance, and may be in lieu of our regular meeting. All Four Seasons residents are welcome to attend both meetings and excursions. Also in January, Cagliero Ranch Nursery is offering FREE pruning demonstrations: • Rose Pruning - Sat., Jan. 11 and Sun., Jan. 19 at 1 pm • Deciduous Fruit Trees – Sun., Jan. 12 and Sat., Jan. 18 at 1 pm For more details and events, please visit caglieroranchnursery.com or contact Sharon Deuber at (760) 500-0077 or Sharon@BlackDiamondInvestments.net. 18 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | January 2020 | What to do with time on my hands after being a nurse for so long? I took up many interests in artistic endeavors. I learned to quilt from a neighbor behind me which gives me the sense of putting colors together. So right out of the gate I ended up making about nine quilts the first year. I still quilt but not quite as fast. Then off to the art of watercolors, one of the hardest artistic ways of painting. As my teacher says, "Let the colors mingle." So I did… still lots to learn. My beadings are my passion through making a beaded project come to life, one tiny bead at a time. Now as life goes on, I have started getting into gourd art which is just as fun as can be. So I guess I can say I can never be bored. Four artistic measures to do when that passion hits my soul.
