Friends we will miss
Barbara Mae (Zandstra) Finelly, 78, passed away on November 22, 2019, at a
friend's home in Sun Lakes. Barbara was born in New Jersey on June 17, 1941. She moved to
California in 1964, met and married her husband Robert Douglas Finelly in Las Vegas, Nevada in
1967. They moved to Huntington Beach in 1978, and had two sons, Douglas (Summer) and Greg
(Danielle). She is also survived by her two grandchildren Noa and Uriah, and her sister Jacklyn
of Nevada. She was proceeded in death by her husband Bob, and two brothers, Jacob and Kenny
Zandstra. Bob and Barbara moved to Sun Lakes part time in 1989 and full time 1998, where
Barbara was involved in many groups. She was President of the 80s Group for many years. She was
one of the founding members of the Makua Hula Hawaiian Dance group of Sun Lakes and danced
with the group for over 20 years. She was a lifetime member of the Sun Lakes Follies. She danced
and appeared as many different characters through those years. She also belonged to many other
groups at Sun Lakes. Barbara will be remembered for her beautiful smile and kind heart.
