Genealogical Society
The Sun Lakes Genealogy Society meets the fourth Wednesday of
the month at 1 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Come
and learn how to create your family tree. If you have already started
your tree, learn more techniques on how to use the Internet, libraries,
the National Archives, and family history centers. Learn about DNA
and how it can help find your previously unknown cousins.
A family tree is a gift to family members that just keeps on giving!
Learn to use your computer and the Internet to easily document your
family tree. Learn about the available computer applications used to
create family trees. Our knowledgeable and professional genealogist
guest speakers give you tips and tricks for research, as well as,
providing the numerous websites where you can do your searching.
Annual membership is only $20 per family. Come by and check it
out. Your first visit is free.
Our speaker this month is Sara Cochran. Sara is a member of
the Association of Professional Genealogists. She will speak on
"Beginning Genealogy."
The holidays are over and we are ready to start
working on our activities for 2020 with our new
board. The first thing we all have to do is pay
our membership dues for the new year. The dues
are $10 for a single person or $15 per couple. All
membership checks/cash are to be submitted to
Sue Dunn either in person or dropped off at 4957
Rio Bravo Dr. If you have any questions regarding

This month we begin our rehearsals for That's Entertainment.
There will be a cast meeting after our general meeting on Jan. 7 and
then we will begin rehearsing on Wednesdays and Fridays each week.
A rehearsal schedule will be provided to the membership in the near
future. If you are planning to perform in That's Entertainment, you
must be a member of our club, so be sure to turn in
your membership dues to Sue.
Activities Day is coming up on Jan. 18 from
9 am to 12 noon so come by and say hello to our
volunteers who will be working at our table. This
will also be another opportunity for you to pay your
dues to Sue Dunn because she will be one of the
volunteers working that day.
Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of
each month at 1 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. If you have
any interest in acting, helping backstage, volunteering for other jobs,
or are curious about what we do, come join us to see what we are
