52 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JANUARY 2020 Brrrrr! Winter has arrived. How lovely it is to play pickleball out in the crisp air surrounded by white snowy mountains. Did you know that Beaumont means beautiful mountain? After a snow, it certainly lives up to the name. Our Christmas was a fun-filled evening of food, games, and music provided by our own pickleball member Tracy Crow. He is a fantastic DJ who has been entertaining people for over 22 years. He plays at all our events and is a valuable part of our group. The pickleballers turned out in droves to support Tracy and his wife, Rowena, at the music event in the Ballroom. I hope you had the opportunity to attend. Rowena is the very talented lead singer in the band named Front Row. She has been singing for 35 years and teamed up with our own Stan Sweeney to form this outstanding musical group. Stan has been very active at Four Seasons for years, setting up the sound systems for the outdoor concerts and all other musical events in the Ballroom. He is a very valuable asset to our community. Now we have the two of them creating music for us to enjoy. The band and DJ Tracy were pleased by the turnout and support they received from our community. They say thank you to all. Remember they live in Four Seasons, so think of them for events you or your group may have in the future. Did you know that Nov. 14 was National Pickle Day? This was a very special day for our group. Of course, you do not want to get pickled in a game. It means you were beaten and had no points. So come on out in this crisp weather and join us on the courts. But don't get pickled! Remember, we have groups playing in the morning and in the afternoon/evening for those still working and those who have daytime conflicts. ~ Marty Key, keeksmail@yahoo.com Pickleball Our famous pickleball DJ — Tracy Crow ready for a night of fun Tracy's wife Rowena singing the night away Pickleball group thanking DJ Tracy (center with poster) and his wife Rowena (not pictured) for a great concert Happy New Year everyone! Hope your holidays were full of fun, good food and great times spent with family and friends. How about that snow on Thanksgiving Day? November and December brought plenty of rain and always on Wednesdays, which is our playing day. So needless to say, we haven't been playing much but as I write this, we're still hoping to get our final singles tournament in 2019. Our Christmas social, which consisted of a potluck, progressive dinner involving three members' homes, was a tremendous amount of fun and has become our members' favorite event of the year. This year, the members who volunteered their homes were Marion and Tom Herron, Jeanne and Emile Pelletier, and Sherry and Paul Plamondon. Thank you all for doing that and ending 2019 on a nice note. Going forward, our club invites all who might be interested in joining us in 2020. Come on out and add some fun and camaraderie to your life in Four Seasons.
