| OHCC LIVING | JANUARY 2020 | 11 Theatre Arts Our first OHSPA concert for 2020 will be Sat., Feb. 22 and tickets will go on sale Tues., Jan. 21 in Abravanel Hall at 7:30 am. This concert is name recognition at its best! The Broadway Tenors — musical theater's celebrated leading men transport you from Broadway's Golden Age to the newest hits and back again in a thrilling and moving evening of Broadway's most beloved songs. You will delight to hear favorites from South Pacific, West Side Story, Phantom Of The Opera, Les Miserables, Jersey Boys, and the list goes on. Special material written just for the Broadway Tenors, this fully-staged and choreographed show guarantees an entertaining evening beyond the classics. Three leading men… three unbelievable voices… they will leave you breathless, recreating the roles they have played on Broadway and on stages all over the world. Now, they will add Ocean Hills Abravanel Hall stage to their list! Exciting news! In the December edition of Living, we listed three concerts for this year (2020)… but we have added a fourth concert! We are bringing the Dukes of Dixieland direct from New Orleans to Abravanel Hall in OHCC on Sat., Aug. 15th. There is so much to say about them but stop by our booth on Do Dues Day and all of the information will be there. We are very excited about our 2020 performances. The Dec. 1, Readers' Theater/Library presentation of Winter Days: Reading for Adults was a success and well-received. Thanks, Sally and actors, for a wonderful program. Senior Moments Improv Troupe – These actors are sharpening their skills for their next show. Keep your eyes peeled right here for news of their next show. Theatre Arts' annual dinner dance, themed "Holly Jolly Holiday," was a complete sellout and a huge success, Bobby's Hideaway catered a delicious meal. Music Station delivered terrific dance music and accompaniment. Bravo, Callie and thank you! Don't forget that Jan. 4 is Do Dues Day. Please be certain to stop by our table and have a chat. The entire community is invited to join us in Abravanel Hall on Jan. 7 at 7 pm, where flautist, Bradley Leighton, will entertain us. An Ocean Hills resident, Bradley, "… brings a unique and powerful sound to flute, including swing and funk. His playing exhibits a fire and flair not usually heard nor expected from a flutist. Bradley has performed across the US and Asia, as both sideman and bandleader, for over 35 years and has recorded six well- received CDs. Leighton has continued to share his knowledge and enthusiasm of music as a clinician and teacher. Whether onstage, in the studio, or in the classroom - Bradley Leighton is one of the most entertaining, skillful and knowledgeable flutists of his age." General meetings are held the first Monday at 7 pm in Abravanel Hall. We always have live entertainment.
