48 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2020 | Well, 2020 is fully underway. What adventures are you planning for this year? The Sun Lakes RV Club is planning to have another spectacular year of fun, frolicking friendship. (Okay, frolic may be too strong a verb, but it started with an "f " and alliteration is fun.) Here's our currently planned activities for 2020: Feb. 2: Super Bowl Rally here at Sun Lakes March 22-27: Distant Drums at Camp Verde, Arizona (near Sedona) May 3-8: Pechanga at Temecula Oct. 4-9: Wine Country RV at Paso Robles October ??: Pizza Party December ??: Holiday Party The Super Bowl Rally is during the time we usually have our Home Rally. In fact, it's really just the Home Rally with all its food and fun, but professional, millionaire athletes are playing the games on TV. For those who don't care for football or your DARN TEAM DIDN'T GET INTO THE GAME (sorry, I digress, but it's a sore subject), you can visit with the other awesome RV club members and enjoy other entertainment. March's Distant Drums trip will be a treat. I love Sedona with its quaint restaurants, shops, and beautiful surroundings. There may be a tour in the works, and there is a casino right down the street from the RV park with a great restaurant. (Just a caveat and TMI share: my spell check tried to change Distant Drums to Distended Drums HA!) May in Pechanga! Who doesn't love Pechanga? Casino, shopping, dining, great golf, swimming pool, hot tub, game room… Pechanga recently upgraded their entire casino/ resort and extended the RV Park. This, like our Pala trip in 2019, will be a fun-filled trip. Hopefully we'll have another winery tour — who knows? Wine Country RV in Paso Robles is one of my favorite places to go. (Another caveat TMI: my family is from Cambria back when it was fire station, a bar, 10 houses, and a Rexall Drug (complete with a soda fountain with red and chrome twirling bar stools). My grandmother was a maid for the Hearst's before they ditched the castle. But, I digress (again))… Don't like wine? Firestone beer brewery is nearby. Don't drink? Play golf, explore the lush area, or just sit and enjoy the great RV park amenities. We'll cap our year off with our Pizza Party and our Holiday Party. Joining's easy! Call Sandy Alexanian for information at (951) 381- 1292. Our Bible study group is non-denominational. All are welcome. We meet together every week for fellowship and study. On the first Wednesday of each month we meet for dinner before our regular meeting. Reservations for dinner are taken in the meeting the last Wednesday of each month. Bring your Bible, any version, and listen to or participate in our discussion of the evening topic. We're all learning together. We'd be delighted if you'd join us. We meet Wednesdays at 7 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Bible Study JOIN US! Do you like to sing? Sun Lakes has its own Barbershop Chorus that meets every Wednesday morning in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room from 9 to 11 am. We all have a song in our heart waiting to come out. So visit us and sing along! Enjoy a coffee and donut at the break.
