50 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | FEBRUARY 2020 | Lady Executive Golf Welcome to Lady Executive Golfers (LEGS)! We are a 9-hole club on the Executive Course. We play weekly on Tuesday mornings with mixed play, fun scrambles and a monthly tournament. In addition, we participate with other clubs for 18-hole tournaments and "away games" a few times during the year. Beginning Oct. 1, we will meet at 8:30 am with a tee time at 9 am. The third Tuesday of each month is our monthly meeting and lunch ($10) at the South Clubhouse. Guests welcome! For lunch information, call Doreen Bryant, (909) 595-1974. We emphasize fun and socializing while striving to improve our game and become more familiar with the Rules of Golf. Join us! Lady Niners Lady Niners welcome February with a breakfast meeting on Thurs., Feb. 6, in the South Clubhouse at 9 am. This will be catered so you will need to have signed up ahead of time. We will follow that meeting with our first Thursday of the month shotgun scramble at 12:30 pm on the Championship Course. On Feb. 13 we will enjoy a "Cup Day" play. Our tee times on Feb. 20 will start at 9:15 am, which includes another "Cup Day." Then on Feb. 27 we have a shotgun start with a "fun" game, which is a "Blind Scramble." Lady Niners enjoy nine holes of golf on a championship course, thus giving us the opportunity to carry a handicap card that means we can play golf tournaments around the area or nationwide. We have a wide variety of organized games that we play throughout the year. Golf gives us a chance to connect with ladies of like interests. The sun is finally shining, and I look out my window to see the course full of golfers. Joining SLWGC this year are seven new members, many of whom are already playing with their Big Sisters. Big Sisters are assigned to each new member in an effort to not only help them navigate the course and to learn the local rules but to introduce them to Club members and make their experience with the Sun Lakes Women's Golf Club as comfortable and stress-free as possible. February promises to be fun, challenging and relaxing. We start the month with a scramble on Feb. 6 with the luncheon and general meeting to follow. Feb. 13 will be a low gross/low net tournament, followed by open golf the next two Thursdays. Once a month the "open play" will be an opportunity for you to pick your own foursome (or not). If not, just sign up as a single, two, or three and you will be paired. The sign-up sheet is available until noon on Monday. Pairings are posted on the website and in the outdoor glass case. Membership applications are available in the Pro Shop. Dues are $70 throughout 2020. If you have not established a handicap, you will need to play three 18- hole rounds on the Championship Course. When completed, place these three attested score cards, the application, and your check in the lock box in the Pro Shop. To those who have joined our Club this year, we are so happy to welcome you.
