20 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | February 2020 | Ready, set, go! Team Sunshine is primed to be in place if you need us in 2020. We offer many services to the Four Seasons community. If you are still not sure what this group of volunteers is prepared to do, please pick up a Caring Connection Card at The Lodge front desk. Celebrations of Life/Memorials: A private Celebration of Life was held on Jan. 11 for Victor Ruedy. Our sympathies go out to the Ruedy family and friends. Our hearts are saddened by the passing of Jean Robinson. Jean was a member of the WIT (Women In Touch) group. Our condolences go out to Jean's family and friends. We have also learned that Dennis Mayberry and Joan Leeb have passed. Team Sunshine has contacted the families to see if we can offer our services. Our sympathies go out to these families as well. We don't always hear of all loss here in Four Seasons. We extend our sincere condolences to those families who are mourning the loss of a loved one. "Grief, I've learned is really just love. It's all the love you want to give but cannot. All of that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go." A special request to the community. If you know of a resident in your neighborhood who has suffered a loss, please ensure that Team Sunshine is alerted. The services we provide are many. A card and a loving and caring phone call can make a big difference. So often these folks suffer this grief alone. We are here to provide some support that lets them know "we care." Thank you. Other Team Sunshine Information: We are excited again to report that our 90+ Birthday Celebration is being planned for Feb. 19 at 2 pm in the Ballroom. Trish Moorhouse and her team are planning a gala celebration for our residents who have reached that amazing 90+ birthday. Please mark your calendar and join us. They deserve our best wishes and we are honored to be here for them. Resource Meeting Reminder: A Caregiver Support Group meets the first Tuesday of each month from 10:30 to 11:30 am at 8190 Parry Drive in Four Seasons. Please join us for this very interesting and informative dialogue on "helps" when you are caring for a loved one in your home. Thank you. We often ask our residents to pick up a "Caring Connection Card" which summarizes the services we can provide. This card is available at The Lodge front desk along with a "Needs Card" for residents who have suffered injury or loss. Requests for medical equipment are also listed on the back of our Caring Connection Card along with other information. Marietta Ruppaner conducts a prayer circle once a month to pray for our residents in need. Give Marietta a call (325-8348) and she'll give you details. Also, a prayer request box is located in the MPR. Closing Thoughts: "If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you."
