Emergency
preparedness
committee
The city of Hemet is offering free
Community Emergency Response Team
(CERT) training at Fire Station 4 on April
17, 18 and 19. You can register on the
City Website or call (951) 765-2451.
Your Emergency Preparedness
Committee is looking for members who
have experience and skills in medical,
police and other first responder fields. Your skills can be of great help
to your neighbors. So, please volunteer for the EPC by contacting any
member.
As many of us know, there was a 12-hour power outage in most
of our Four Seasons Community due to a failure in SCE equipment.
Your Emergency Preparedness Committee/CERT members activated
and setup the emergency generator at The Lodge.
This was done to help those community residents who are using
critical medical equipment whose own emergency power backup
was depleted. Residents in that situation were able to go to The
Lodge to power their medical equipment.
An event like this is a learning experience. We
know what went well and what can be improved
to support our community in future events.
Our Mission: The Community Emergency
Response Team (CERT) Program is designed
to increase individual and community
preparedness and self-reliance in the event
of man-made or natural disasters. The Federal
Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has officially recognized
CERT as an important part of a community's disaster preparedness
readiness.
Four Seasons CERT continues to need your participation. We
meet the third Monday at 9:30 am. Become a Street Captain or CERT
Auxiliary. Step up. Be a part of the best CERT in the valley, come
make a difference. For more information visit https://fscert.org/
