| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | March 2020 | 5 General Manager's Message By Rick Ruth, CMCA Annual Membership Meeting: The Annual Membership Meeting is approaching and will be on Wed., April 22. This year, there are four positions up for re-election for two year terms. In mid-February, a "Notice of Election" with a list of the qualified candidates was emailed to owners who have signed up to receive email communications. The notice was also posted on the Community Bulletin Board in The Lodge. Beginning the week of March 16, the Annual Meeting Notice and ballots will be sent via first class mail to all owners. It is very important that you exercise your membership rights and vote. If you have any questions about the process, please stop by The Lodge. Mari, our Assistant General Manager, or I will be happy to answer your questions. I cannot stress how important and costly the election process is to the HOA if we don't achieve a quorum, so please vote. Also, be sure and sign the top left corner of the green envelope. Gate Arm Strikes: During the last two months, two residents drove into the new LED gate arms. One resident drove into the World Cup exit arm, the other resident drove into the LED arm at the front gate. Camera footage confirmed the identities of the residents. In one case, management met with the residents to show them the footage, the residents acknowledged their responsibility and agreed to reimburse the association. The LED gate arms are not break-away arms. How much do they cost to replace? It varies due to the severity, management's time to identify the person responsible, the number of trips the gate vendor may have to make, i.e. if they come out on the weekends, and the cost of labor and materials. Here are some average costs residents have paid to reimburse the association: • Basic bump of the break-away arm and the handyman is on duty and able to reattach the arm - $150. • If the break-away arm has to be replaced - $450-500. • LED arm hit and there is minor damage $250-400. • LED arm is hit and broken off, $1,000-1,300. These costs could be higher depending on the circumstances. So, please be careful when entering and exiting the community. We hope you have a safe St. Patrick's Day.
