34 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2020 Computer Group Last month, Larry Workman, gave a vitally useful presentation on "How to Add Emergency Information to Your Phone's *Lock Screen" (*mobile operating system that runs on smartphones and tablets and typically use a gesture-based lock screen, where the device is typically unlocked by dragging the circled padlock icon in any direction). A discussion was held as to what would happen if there were a need for emergency/urgent care, but the person in need was not able to communicate with first responders; for example, in the case of an unconscious individual. People with serious, known conditions, including those prone to seizures and/or those who have an implant device might wear a bracelet or necklace explaining their medical situation, but that is not always the case. And so, just as important, the presentation explained how to, first, add emergency information to one's own phone; and then, it demonstrated how we could find this vital information on almost anyone else's phone and alert their emergency contacts. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am in the RCN. You are invited to visit and explore computer technology with us. If there is a certain subject you would like to have covered in one of our meetings, contact Larry Workman at larry.workman@gmail. com. ~ Larry Workman We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30 am in the RCN Room #3. Newcomers are always welcome, even if you haven't read the book. The Book Club selection for March is From the Corner of the Oval by Beck Dorey-Stein. Here is a brief description of the book from Amazon.com: "In 2012, Beck Dorey-Stein is working five part- time jobs and just scraping by when a posting on Craigslist lands her, improbably, in the Oval Office as one of Barack Obama's stenographers. The ultimate D.C. outsider, she joins the elite team who accompany the president wherever he goes, recorder and mic in hand. On whirlwind trips across time zones, Beck forges friendships with a dynamic group of fellow travelers — young men and women who, like her, leave their real lives behind to hop aboard Air Force One in service of the president. As she learns to navigate White House protocols and more than once runs afoul of the hierarchy, Beck becomes romantically entangled with a consummate D.C. insider, and suddenly the political becomes all too personal. Against a backdrop of glamour, drama, and intrigue, this is the story of a young woman learning what truly matters, and, in the process, discovering her voice." Please join us when we discuss this book on Tuesday, March 10 at 9:30 am. Doreen Sanders will be leading the discussion. For those of you who like to read ahead, our book for April is scheduled to be The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris.
