Jeff Sheppard
Our spotlight this month is on Four Seasons resident, Jeff Sheppard. Jeff is
no stranger to many of us at Four Seasons, especially the animal lovers. As a
very passionate animal lover, he and his partner of 26 years, John, moved here
in October, 2016. The appeal was largely due to the welcoming sight of all of
the walkers on our beautiful streets and trails with their animals. Living in
an animal-friendly environment is most important to Jeff, John, and their two
dogs, Fiona and Bubba.
Jeff is the President and CEO of the Ramona Humane Society (RHS), a non-
profit animal shelter located in San Jacinto. He has held that position for the
past 20 years.
Jeff studied Animal Science at Mt. San Antonio College and Non-Profit
Management at UC Riverside. He is a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator
and has been the Board President for Pet Over-Population Coalition (POPCO)
for 19 years. He oversees sheltering and animal control services for Hemet,
San Jacinto, and Beaumont, along with the Animal Care Center in San Jacinto,
a full-service veterinary hospital. He also runs a low-cost spay and neuter
clinic in San Jacinto, which performs over 8,000 surgeries annually.
As President/CEO of RHS, Jeff 's continued focus is providing resources for
the community to be responsible pet owners and cultivate an informative
approach to animal welfare issues. His ability to balance his passion for
animals and vast experience in the humane field, as well as his enthusiasm to
grow the non-profit, has enabled RHS to work on projects to launch innovative
new programs for the public.
Last March, Ramona Humane Society held a "Walk for the Animals" here
at Four Seasons and it was very successful. The second annual RHS Walk for
the Animals will be held on April 18, and they hope to attract more interest
and generate more donations to benefit our homeless furry friends. The walk
will begin at The Lodge with lots of activities including a pancake breakfast,
DJ Tracy, and drawings for some great prizes. Come on out to this fun event.
