| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2020 | 33 I'm afraid we've had our share of losses recently, and that's all among our volunteers. One more to mention is the husband of one of our very special volunteers, Janie Haughn. Her husband, Dennis, fought a hard battle with cancer and lost the fight in January. Our heart is with you and your family, Janie. We will miss Dennis tremendously — he was loved by all who met him. In February our entertainment was The Radio Flyers. This wonderful group has recently added well-known and accomplished singer Gina Harlan-Caputo. The sound of the three of them together is incredible. Paul is the heart-throb crooner, Ron is the fabulous Doo Wop influence and Gina brings the harmonies together. They were not satisfied with our regular entertainment time frame and generously went above and beyond their scheduled time. Some of their songs were Little Bitty Pretty One, In the Still of the Night, Bring it on Home to Me, Betcha By Golly Wow, April Love and many others. In addition, they sang the YMCA tune to AARP lyrics, a special jello tribute and other satire in lyrics that provided true comic relief. I heard some incredible compliments from the members — thank you very much, we loved you, Radio Flyers! Also, we had quite a few new attendees who joined us as a result of the Activities Event in January so we were pleased to welcome them. One even brought her daughters. Welcome to all. This was the first gathering of the first Saturday of the month, so next month's will be on March 7 at 3 pm in the South Clubhouse. Our dinners are $13 per person and we need a headcount for the caterer. Make your reservation by the 20th of the month to Donna Harrington at (909) 561-5066. Your checks can be dropped off, made out to the 80's Plus Club at 5393 Riviera. Remember, spouses and caregivers are welcome. Bring other out-of-town guests as well, we love to include them. 80s Plus Club The ALL IS WELL program is underway. Those residents who live alone and wish to check in with a volunteer on a daily basis to establish that "all is well," may do so by being assigned to a volunteer. For further information about the service or volunteer to help, you may call Barbara Searcy at (951) 663-3382. All Is Well Group
