34 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2020 | Makua Hula The Country Western Dance this month is on the first Thursday, March 5. This dance is in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom from 7 to 9 pm. At all our dances we do both line and couples dances. Usually we do three line dances and then two couples dances throughout the evening. This month we will have five line dance instructions. The instructions are Mondays, March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 and are at the South Clubhouse from 7 to 8:30 pm. The line dancers are learning and enjoying some more challenging dances. However, if you are interested feel free to come to any of our events to see what we do and how we do it. Country Western Dance Dinner Dance Club Members of the Dinner Dance Club (DDC) are looking forward to Sat., March 21 in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. American Made Band, one of our favorite music groups, will be playing for our listening and dancing pleasure from 6 to 9:30 pm. Come early (5:30- 6 pm) to get your drinks and socialize with your neighbors and friends before the dancing begins. We recommend a "dressy casual" attire for the evening. Once again, a delicious meal has been planned for us. We start the meal with warm dinner rolls and brochette with crostini. Your menu options are: • Sole Piccata for $26 • Pork Loin with mushroom sauce for $23 • Eggplant Parmesan for $22 All of the above entrees will be served with mashed potatoes and green beans with red bell pepper. You will close out your meal with a chocolate cream pie for dessert. The sign-up forms and the checks for your table need to go into the box at 5836 Indian Canyon between March 1 and March 12. Remember that you can see all the information you need for the DDC on sunlakescc.com. Look for the subheading "Clubs" and then "Dinner Dance Club." If you have a guest, remember to add $5 to their menu choice. Oftentimes, people have friends here during a dinner and dance. What a great way to let them see Sun Lakes in action as you dine and dance the evening away! Makua Hula ladies participated in "That's Entertainment's" Chasing the Dream. It was a theater-in-the-round, four-day performance at the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Dancing to "Bali Hai" in "the round" was very unique and memorable. But, when Makua Hula danced to Hawaii 5-0… it was electrifying! Our "Celebration of Life" for our Barbara Finelly was held at the South Clubhouse. Many family members and Sun Lakes friends attended. The Makua Hula ladies danced to Barbara's favorite dances… "Humana" and "The Prayer." We definitely will miss Barbara, "Our Hula Mama."
