| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MARCH 2020 | 51 Executive Men's Golf Join us on the Championship Course on Wednesdays, it is Men's Day! Scheduled this month is the Sun Lakes Safari Modified (ABCD), on Wed., March 11 and the 2-Man Scramble (Pick your Partner), on Sat., March 21. At our Third Annual Awards and Appreciation Dinner, Tony Browne-Tournament Chair and Al Vallecorsa-PGA Director of Golf made an unknown recipient announcement that Michael Kort was the Most Improved Golfer in 2019. Also, another unknown recipient announcement was made for the Ollie Perreira Award by Al Boteilho, Ollie's brother-in-law, that Ken Johnson was the Men's Club 2019 Member of the Year in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to the success of our club. We continue to encourage members from last year to renew their memberships. The dues are $70 ($34 goes towards men's club dues and $36 pays for maintaining your S.C.G.A./GHIN handicap). We have a tournament on the third Friday of the month followed by a catered lunch in the North Clubhouse. The tournament for the month of March is Irish Four Ball (pick your partner). The Executive Men's Club meets on Friday mornings at 8:30 am for a 9 am shotgun start. We also have a closest to the pin and circle hole contests every Friday. Membership is open to all Sun Lakes male residents and all levels of golfers are welcome. COME JOIN US! New member forms are available in the North Pro Shop or on the EMGC website. Saturday Morning Golf Are you still working and looking for a weekend golf option? Are you interested in sharpening your short game skills? Do you enjoy having a relaxed game of golf? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may wish to join our Saturday Morning Golf Group. We play on the Executive Course. Our membership includes men and women with a large range of handicaps. Our members share a love of the game. We have shotgun starts. Most of the year, October through June, the check in time is 8:30 am with a 9 am shotgun. In the summer, July through September, the check in time is 8 am with a 8:30 am shotgun. We hold monthly tournaments, an annual Club Championship competition, and quarterly dinners. Membership application forms are available in the North Pro Shop. Annual dues are only $15. Many couples have joined us this year to play casual golf with fun golf games on Sunday mornings. If you want to join us, please call Mary Wilkie at (909) 280-1451 for information.
