The Recreation Department is experiencing a bit of an adjustment. With the renovation under way, it took us a bit of time to get back on our feet. We are now back in business! People like our new "digs" and we continue with business as usual and to accommodate requests, as best we can, and it appears it is working. The Galleria area is kind of a drop-in area for activity, the staff setting up tables for members wishing for a space to hang-out and congregate. Coffee is available every day. The Ladies Club Room access is working, with a rolling wall in place to help divide those from their activity and those entering the Clubhouse. Just as soon as this publication is distributed, we will be making new plans to move back into our old "digs." The staff is looking forward to the facelift and their newly renovated offices. The polling precincts for the Presidential Primary Election will be set up in the Abravanel Hall on Tues., March 3. They will be open at 7 am until 8 pm. Remember to vote! The Spring Eggstravaganza is coming up on Sat., April 11, on the Easter holiday weekend. We will not be using the Lanai as our canopy this year but utilizing the area outside the Golf Casa for a place to assemble. Angie has put a flyer together with all the particulars and posted it in this publication. This is a wonderful family event with lots of prizes, refreshments, and fun for all ages. The bunny will be there to entertain and hop to the age appropriate areas for our egg hunts. Please arrive on time as the bunny waits for no one and the egg hunts go back to back. There is nothing better than seeing children fill their baskets with eggs, squeal when they win a prize, and run in the sunshine. There is no charge for this event but make sure each child has a basket. Hop to it, and join us for a fun Saturday! Pop-up Services continue on Mondays. The staff is looking at alternatives; the current vendors seem to be happy with the participation. Of course, that can and does change. We are keeping our options open and monitoring the activity on a monthly basis. We are looking at the possibility of a farmer's market set-up and that will be a recommendation to the Community Services Committee, if deemed viable. The warmer months are ahead of us. Daylight Savings begins on Sun., March 8, so move those clocks forward an hour. Spring is sprung on the 19th and that means the hours of light are longer and the Clubhouse gets busier. See you somewhere amidst the construction. Remember everything good and lasting, is worth waiting for. We appreciate everyone's cooperation during this time. Thank you!
