Greetings Sailors and Wannabes.
We just began our 2020 sailing season with our first club
meeting Feb. 4 which was hosted very well by Bill Crosby our Vice
Commodore. Bill welcomed a number of new members, who
introduced themselves and shared any sailing experience they had.
Looks like we have some new capable sailors coming aboard so we
look forward to them joining us soon on a Catalina 290 for some bay
sailing.
We have a new Members Chairperson, Sue Porter, who is doing an
excellent job keeping us organized and she provided us with cruise
quality appetizers to enjoy. We also have new bartenders, Willy
Sernesi, and Vinny Micioscia who helped host us with a sea worthy
beverage bar for the evening.
Bill and Forrest have put together an exciting new club trip for a
tour of our San Diego USCG base on April 23. Members be sure to
sign up on our website if you are interested... or at our April club
meeting (limited space available).
Our club is now holding a drawing at each meeting, for two free day
sail certificates awarded to the lucky winners worth $45 each and can
be used on any of our day sailings during our sailing season. Other
tours and excursions are being worked on with more information to
follow. Then we are preparing for our big summer party in July, a
Jimmy Buffett theme of "Escape to Margaritaville" with It is 5 o'clock
Somewhere dance music, games, Jimmy Buffett Parrot Hats and
island foods to enjoy.
So we hope you will join us at our next meeting April 7 to sign
up for a day sailing with one of our capable Captains and 1st Mate.
