64 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | APRIL 2020 | FRED C. CRISSINGER was born in Long Beach, California on October 1, 1941. He was an avid sports fan and participant while growing up in Long Beach. He played football in high school and later coached his two sons, Fred Jr and Mark, in their Little League teams. Shortly after high school, he went to work for GTE where he spent 35 years and eventually retired from that company. While there, he and a group of 35 fellow employees bought lottery tickets each week. One week, one of their tickets was one of three to win $52 million. Their share was $17.5 million and they each received $500,000 over 20 years. After retiring, he and his contractor son, Mark, built a three-story house overlooking Lake Arrowhead. Several years later, he suffered a stroke and later came to Sun Lakes to live with his sister Joyce White and Richard Paul. He was a huge Angels fan. He also loved all things automotive, especially NASCAR. He spent many years restoring a 1956 Chevrolet and owned a 1992 Corvette. He also spent a year completely restoring a 1966 Corvette, which he later sold to a member of the rock group System Of the Down for $65,000. He is survived by his son, Mark Crissinger. Lorene C. Estermyer 02/12/1937 – 02/19/2020. Lorene 'Lori' C. Estermyer entered the gates of Heaven on February 19, 2020. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Larry Estermyer, sons Mark & Timothy Estermyer, grandchildren, Stephanie Martin and Adam Estermyer, many extended family members and a grand circle of friends. Lori grew up in San Bernardino and lived at Sun Lakes for 26 years. She graduated with her Nursing Degree from San Bernardino Valley College and worked as an RN in various medical offices and retired as the Charge Nurse for SCE's Corporate Medical Clinic in Rialto. Lori was involved with many charities over the years, including Carol's Kitchen, Table of Plenty, etc. She was a member of the Beaumont Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon. She and Larry participated in several Sun Lakes clubs including the RV Club, Paisano, Friendship Club and many more. Lori was a talented Artist and loved oil painting. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, cheerfulness, loving heart, generosity and her love for the Lord. Howard Alan Esterson passed away early in the morning of March11, 2020. He was the beloved husband of Carol Steuer Esterson, loving father of Marlena Esterson, Lori Esterson and Kenny (and Lili) Esterson. Howard was a loving, kind and generous man, a wonderful friend to many. Howard was adored and loved by many. He was a golf addict, an athlete all his life, and an avid reader. He had an incredible memory. He loved his retirement and life at Sun Lakes and all his activities and many friends there. Audrey Klein, age 95, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2020. She was born on August 6, 1924 in Drakesville, Iowa to Joseph and Chloe Benge. In 1932 during the height of the depression, her family moved to Oregon in the "First Motorhome in the US" (a converted truck built by her dad with a small house built on the back). The family of nine (including her two sisters, three brothers, mom, dad, uncle and two dogs made the long trip with a Maytag washer so they always had clean clothes. During WWII, Audrey worked in the Willamette shipyards in Portland as a delivery person who delivered messages by bicycle. Audrey was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and avid artist. She met her soulmate and best friend of 73 years, Frank, at a school dance at Oregon State. The couple was married after dating for one year and together they loved to travel, lived an active lifestyle, and raised three beautiful children. She lived in four different states, but especially enjoyed living in Hawaii for 10 years. In Hawaii, Audrey served as the President of the League of Women Voters and made the front page of the Honolulu Advertiser Newspaper where she sat on the Governor's desk urging women to vote. Audrey's interest in Chinese brush and watercolor painting began when she lived in Hawaii. When she lived in Huntington Beach she served as President of the American Artists of Chinese Brush Painting for two years and also on the Board of Directors for 10 years. In 1996, Audrey and her husband Frank moved to Sun Lakes where she belonged to the Sun Lakes Art League, Friendship Club, Busy Bee Club, and made many friends. Audrey is survived by her daughter, LeAnne Decker (Richard), her two sons, Steve (Alice) and Doug (Liz), six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her sister Deloris, and many other lifelong friends.
