FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2020 47 March found us completing our six-week series on the study of peace in the Bible. The word "peace" is mentioned 429 times in the Bible. There are different types of peace: false peace, inner peace, world peace, peace of and with God and peace with others. We journeyed through discussing each, and what each means in our lives. We defined peace as the world defined it, and how enticing that can be. We discussed what inner peace feels like and how to find it. We had a very interesting discussion on the 14 ways that "our peace can be stolen from us." All of the ladies who were in attendance for that discussion added immensely to the lesson by sharing their own experiences. Some of the peace-stealers we discussed are worry, perfectionism, busyness, pride, money, and negativity, to name a few. We then discussed ways to take back your peace: Expect every promise; refuse to allow doubt, fear or worry; love others, even when they don't deserve it; and follow your inner witness. We talked about the peace of God, what is perfect peace, peace with others, and forgiveness, the refusal to forgive being a major peace-stealer. In April we will begin our next six-week series focused on End Times. We were fortunate to begin the study by viewing a Christian documentary in the theater, where all members of "Believe…" and their guests were able to view and discuss the movie. We are basing this series on the Book of Daniel, and will be discussing the timeline that Daniel affords us, with interesting and worth-keeping handouts. If you are interested in attending a wonderful Bible study with some of the most devoted and strong Christian women in this community, please come by the Game Room any Friday at 10:30 to 11:45 am. You will be warmly welcomed, and we'll be looking for you! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine; egcellent@msn.com "Believe…" Women's Bible Study Intercessory Prayer group Greeting intercessors, friends, and neighbors! Join us in prayer for our family community, and country. Together we stand and divide we fall. Who said uniting we stand, by diving we fall? My answer comes from Wikipedia. John Dickinson wrote the song and it says, "then join hand in hand, brave Americans all! By uniting we stand, by diving we fall!" The article goes on to say that this is a phrase used in many different kinds of mottos, most often inspire unity and collaboration. The article explains that a similar phrase also appears in the New Testament - translated into English from the historic Greek in Mark 3:25: "and if a house is divided against itself that house cannot stand." Similar verses of the New Testament includes Matthew 12:25: "And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand." How true this is. We must come together as a community and pray; we need to pray more than ever before. There are so much violence and fear in the land, but by uniting in prayer we cover our family, homes, and community. Come and agree with us, let us stand together as one. I was reading an article about our flag and in 1954, in response to the Communist threat of the times, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words "under God," creating the 31-word pledge we say today. The daughter of the man who originally wrote the pledge objected to this alteration. My favorite part of the pledge is the last sentence, "One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." Hope to see you on the first Monday of the month, the time 9 am in The Lodge Game Room. Men are welcome. ~ Cookie Bonner; eaglewatchwb@aol.com
