FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2020 11 JON WICKMAN 1. My wife, Roberta, and I have lived at Four Seasons for three-and-a- half years. My in-laws were original owners here so of course we have seen the community grow. Our children and grandkids live in the area and we wanted to be closer to them. We both love it here and call our cul-de-sac a little slice of heaven. 2. While I don't have previous Board experience, I do have a lot of 'people' experience, having worked at Patton State Hospital for more than 39 years as a lead and supervisor. I have dealt with difficult people who weren't necessarily patients. 3. The key issue to me is the decision-making process. I would like to ensure the entire community is involved in the decision- making process when those decisions affect us all. I want to see more involvement in the community and get opinions of residents before acting on major issues. I also believe there should be term limits for the Board. 4. In order for our community to stay as beautiful as it is or get even better, we have to maintain adequate reserves. Costs go up, dues may increase and we must meet the needs of the future. 5. At this time, I feel the status quo of the Board of Directors needs to change. Decisions made by the Board need to be made in the best interest of the entire community, and if I win a place on the Board I will ensure decisions made by me will be made not for myself, my family, my friends or for favors. We need new blood, new ideas and I'm ready to start. LARRY WORKMAN 1. I'm going on my sixth year here. My wife and I were living in Tennessee and often returned to California to visit relatives. After retiring, we traveled the United States for six months and began searching for the ideal place. After a period of time in Orange County, Four Seasons Beaumont was the location that fulfilled that resort-like concept we wanted. 2. I was part of the senior staff of a $100 million corporation and became aware of the responsibilities management had in two respects — working with employees and working with customers. I have the business aspect that will help the Board members in their functions. I have been on an HOA Board in Orange County. Here, I am on the Communications Board and I run the Computer Group. 3. We are transitioning from a K. Hovnanian marketing asset to a private community. We need to address the access that nonresidents have to our facilities and seek ways to improve our private community status. Better communication with residents about community changes is also key. We should employ surveys, detailed agendas, and occasional evening Board meetings to assist the working demographic of our community. 4. We must absolutely maintain our reserves over 100 percent. We have to be prepared for contract increases in the future. I would like to see our community survive and improve over time. We don't want it to degrade due to poor foresight, lack of reserves, or from overuse. 5. I want to be part of a team and the Board needs to work as a team and be cognizant of the desires of the community as a whole. It would be my honor to serve the residents of the community and I'll do my best to provide non-biased decisions that reflect the majority of the community.
