FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2020 13 Happy April! This month starts out with our "Community Treasure Hunt" called the April 4 HOA Garage Sale. This Garage Sale/ Treasure Hunt will go from 8 am to 2 pm. There is just nothing like the thrill of the find! The next special spring thing that you want to look out for is the Photography Club's display in the Lodge Lobby from April 13 to April 20. Everyone seems to be interested in taking better photos, thanks to the cameras on all of our cell phones. If you want to see how our in-house photo experts catch awesome and unusual images, be sure to block out some time to really enjoy and get inspired by our residents' work. Most of the photos being shown will most likely be filmed on regular cameras, but I look forward to ideas I might be able to capture myself with what I have. Come on down and take notes. In case you didn't know, Beaumont has a different culture than New Orleans. We do have some similar celebrations, however. One of them is the Four Seasons Beaumont Mardi Gras Party on Friday, April 17 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. There will be a festive Dixieland Band and a big traditional Kings Cake. The Mardi Gras decorated floats (golf carts) will be lined up at the front circle before the party for judging. The actual parade will be starting at 8:30 pm so that it's dark enough for all of the parade lights to really have impact! You are being asked to wear whatever festive purple, green or gold outfits you have as well as an umbrella (decorated if you want to) for the indoor "Second Line" parade we'll be having in the Ballroom. Please note that this IS NOT a "clothing optional" event. You are also welcome to bring your own appetizers, dinners, and favorite beverages. There is no cost to attend, but you must have a free ticket available on Friday, April 10 and throughout that week. There will only be 250 tickets available for this event and each household is allowed one ticket per household member. If you are doing your neighbor a favor and picking theirs up for them, please be prepared to give the desk their names and numbers. May all of you have a happy and meaningful Easter and Passover. Activities Director Corner By Cindy Graves Ever take that "perfect" travel picture or capture your significant other having a great time exploring parts of the world outside our community gates? Well, now you have a place to share it with others. We are starting a column called "Oh, the Places We Go!" Residents may submit high-quality digital photos to fourseasonsnews@yahoo.com. While not required, we would love to see a copy of the Breeze in your escapades. It will be fun to see how far and to what exotic places the magazine travels. Please be sure to include information to explain your photos, especially "The Who," what, when, and where. The Light at the Gardens by the Bay Light Show: The Supertree Grove standing at 25m to 50m tall, these iconic tree-like steel structures are bejeweled from top to bottom with colorful dotted lights.
