36 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2020 Computer Group Francis Chao of the Tucson Computer Society gave a presentation on "Using Free Cloud Storage." He showed how to use cloud storage services to store data files and digital photos for free. Mr. Chao illustrated the benefits of storing data files in the cloud, thus reducing the chance of losing both files and photos to hard- drive crashes and/or operator error. He also explained how to facilitate collaboration between multiple people working on the same document. Finally, Mr. Chao both explained and demonstrated how cloud storage provides the ability to synchronize data files and digital photo albums between multiple computers, tablets, and cell phones. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am in the RCN. Our next meeting will be held Tuesday, April 14. On the 14th, Robin Low will give us insight on Roku, a computer device (much like a smartphone) that accesses the Internet and shows its contents on a TV screen. Join us! If you are unable to join us, you can go to the Four Seasons Computer Group website and download information from previous meetings. Additionally, if you have queries and/or if there is a certain subject you would like to have covered in one of our meetings, contact Larry Workman at larry.workman@gmail.com. ~ Larry Workman We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 9:30 am in the RCN room #3. Newcomers are always welcome, even if you haven't read the book. The Book Club selection for April is The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris. Here is a brief description of the book from Amazon.com: "In April 1942, Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew, is forcibly transported to the concentration camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau. When his captors discover that he speaks several languages, he is put to work as a Tätowierer (the German word for tattooist), tasked with permanently marking his fellow prisoners. Imprisoned for over two and a half years, Lale witnesses horrific atrocities and barbarism, but also incredible acts of bravery and compassion. Risking his own life, he uses his privileged position to exchange jewels and money from murdered Jews for food to keep his fellow prisoners alive. One day in July 1942, Lale, prisoner 32407, comforts a trembling young woman waiting in line to have the number 34902 tattooed onto her arm. Her name is Gita, and in that first encounter, Lale vows to somehow survive the camp and marry her. A vivid, harrowing, and ultimately hopeful re-creation of Lale Sokolov's experiences as the man who tattooed the arms of thousands of prisoners with what would become one of the most potent symbols of the Holocaust, The Tattooist of Auschwitz is also a testament to the endurance of love and humanity under the darkest possible conditions." Please join us when we discuss this book on Tuesday, April 14 at 9:30 am. Mary Lou Keating will be leading the discussion. For those of you who like to read ahead, our book for May is scheduled to be The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware. For more information, please contact Micki Rosen at michelesrosen@gmail.com. ~ Micki Rosen Book Club Travel Group If April Showers bring May flowers then why was the Carlsbad Flower Field trip in March? Asking for a friend… By the way, if you went on that trip you missed our March meeting. We had a lively discussion on trip options and why ticket sales have been lackluster. The steering committee had selected day trips based on members' past interests. However, we surmise that most folks have "been there, done that." We want to explore new destinations and exciting venues so please email any suggestions to events or places of interest to irenewelker55@gmail.com. Our featured trip this month is the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach. We currently have 70 tickets between two dates — Aug. 12 and 19. The price for this one-day trip was not finalized in time for this article; however, know that it will include transportation and entrance fees. Meals will be on your own. To purchase Pageant tickets, please check the Daily Report for April dates and times that travel group members will be at The Lodge to accept registration and payment. The limited tickets will be on a first-paid, first-served basis. Should you want to be included on our email list, please contact Sharon Bond at sjbond2013@gmail.com. ~ Kris Corbett
