FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2020 5 CUMULATIVE VOTING What is Cumulative Voting? The way that cumulative voting works is if you have four Board seats up for election, each household has four votes. It is then up to the household how to cast those four votes as cumulative voting allows more than one vote cast to a candidate. A household can cast one vote to four candidates or four votes for one candidate, or any combination therein as long as votes cast are whole votes and the number of votes cast is not over the number of available votes. The number of votes allowed in a cumulative voting election are the same as the number of candidates running which is why you may have noted the changes in the number of votes allowed from one election to another. K. HOVNANIAN IS ON THE WAY OUT As I am sure many of you have noticed the lack of K. Hovnanian personnel presence in the community you may be asking yourselves, is the builder gone yet? Have they finished everything? Well, rest assured your Board of Directors has been keeping track of the last and final items the builder needs to complete before they are "finished" with this beautiful community. The Board tasked each committee with submitting a punch list of items they oversee that may need attention before the builder vacates officially. Those lists were compiled into one master punch list which the builder has completed 95 percent of the work as of now and is on track to complete the remaining five percent over the next few months. With the Conservancy still under builder control they cannot completely leave until that has been finalized which could take up to a year working through the Army Corp of Engineers. INSURANCE MORATORIUM The State of California recently issued a one-year moratorium on insurance companies non- renewing policyholders for residents living near a declared wildfire disaster. The zip code 92223, which includes Four Seasons Beaumont, is included in the moratorium. For more information, please visit http://www.insurance.ca.gov/01-consumers/140-catastrophes/ wildfirenonrenewalinfo.cfm. We will include this link on the website as well. Stay tuned next month for an article with more information on California wildfire threats and the official California map that shows high threat areas. GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT By Eric Zarr
