44 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2020 Step It Up Line Dancing Country Line Dancing Congratulations to the beginning class that started in January. Most could not country line dance at all when they started and all are now doing more than 12 dances. My next very beginner class will start May 5 from 1:30 to 2 pm in the Ballroom. This is for very beginners only and you must attend each class to go on to the next. Some only want to learn the basic dances and that is okay. If you want to learn more it is important that you attend each class. I customize each class. If you need review of a dance or step, I am willing to do that. Line dancing is taught by steps. Once you learn some basic steps, those same steps show up in other songs just in a different order. This makes learning new dances so much easier. The class lasts 8 to 12 plus weeks. And, yes, you can repeat the class if you feel you need that. As we age, exercise and brain challenging activities help keep us young, flexible and moving. Line dancing is easier for people since you dance alone, but with a bunch of other dancers. Very few people learn a new dance in one lesson. It takes repeated practice before you get the whole dance. It always amazes me when I look around and most people are doing the same steps at the same time. We have several upcoming events: A free Country Line Dance Party and More will be held in the Ballroom May 15, please look for details in the May Breeze. On June 7, we will have another Branding Iron outing. The last one was attended by 21 of us and we had a blast. So mark your calendars so you don't miss these important events. See you on the dance floor. ~ Martha Franck, (714) 345-8588 The March Welcome Spring Barn party was a blast and attended by many of the Step it Up line dancers and friends. Spring was in the air with all of the great decorations with help from Claudia Weisburg and her daughter Kristie as well as Jack and Margie Spies and Bob and Vickie Howard. The Easter Bunny also showed up and we had a Easter Egg hunt with the big golden egg winners Wayne Disher, Julie Roth and Penny Key. I will be starting over with the new three-month class for the Monday session on April 6 at 12:30 pm and the Wednesday night class which is held at 6 pm at The Courts will start on April 1. We even danced outside at The Courts under the stars which was really fun. As a reminder, classes are held on Mondays in the Ballroom from 12:30 to 1:30 pm for entry level dancers and from 1:30 to 2:30 pm for beginners. The Wednesday night LD 101 (entry level) class is from 6 to 7:30 pm at The Courts. If you have any questions, you can call me at (949) 326-3133. ~ Janine Rohrbacker Wednesday night class under the stars Having fun with the "Easter Bunny"
