10 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | April 2020 | Emergency preparedness committee Act Now to Prevent the Spread of Coronavirus and Flu! Here are some tips: • Avoid being close to people who are visibly sick, coughing, or sneezing. • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth, and face. • Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol. • Disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces with Clorox or Lysol products. • If you feel sick, stay home and avoid physical contact with others. • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue you can discard, then immediately wash your hands. • Masks are recommended only if you have symptoms, in area with possibly sick people, or if you are caring for someone with symptoms. • Avoid large crowds of people gathered tightly knit. EPC is focused on recruitment of CERT members within Four Seasons, this is an ongoing task. If you or someone you know is interested please go to fscert.org and register. CERT held an exercise for all Street Captains to do a "Windshield" survey of our areas for use of our Help Needed/ OK signs. We encourage all residents to place the Green Sign Blank side facing out, in their front window. This way they are easy to find and use in a disaster that affects Four Seasons Hemet. Our EPC is cooperating with Riverside County Amateur Radio Emergency Services by hosting in the multi-function room periodic meetings of ARES District Emergency Coordinators from throughout Riverside County. This maintains close ties between Four Seasons Hemet and Emergency Communications providers during a disaster that prevents traditional communications capabilities like land lines and cell telephones. Our Mission: The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is designed to increase individual and community preparedness and self-reliance in the event of man-made or natural disasters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has officially recognized CERT as an important part of a community's disaster preparedness readiness. Four Seasons CERT continues to need your participation. Become a Street Captain or CERT Auxiliary. Step up. Be a part of the best CERT in the valley, come make a difference. For more information visit https://fscert.org/cert-volunteer You can help yourself. To learn how to get ready, go to https:// fscert.org. Plan. Prepare. Survive. "And Spring arose on the garden fair, Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere; And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast rose from the dreams of its wintry rest." - Percy Bysshe Shelley, The Sensitive Plant As Shelley writes, spring brings a spirit of love and friendship everywhere in Four Seasons. We enjoy the lovely sight and fragrance of new blossoms on trees and flowers as we take our walks, sit on our patios, and enjoy social time with friends. Enjoying warm inviting evenings on our Plaza begins this month, April 14, from 6 to 8:30 pm, with Bonita & The Blues Shacks playing authentic R& B music. This is a favorite so don't miss it. How about inviting a neighbor to join you to celebrate springtime nights? Enjoy an April evening with Hollywood Revisited Music Review on Wed., April 29, doors open at 4:30 pm, dinner at 5 pm with the show beginning at 6:30 pm. This event was loved by all who attended last time the review came to Four Seasons. You don't want to miss this wonderful film costume collection presented by Greg Schreiner, Curator of Special Collections at the Hollywood Museum. Plan on an evening filled with music and fun. Tickets are on sale now. Last month many attended a Wine Pairing event with Wiens Winery hosting. Eight wines were presented and tasted along with a bite of food that complimented each wine. A variety of whites and red were tasted, with the Dualis being among the favorites. The pear and goat cheese with honey was tasty alongside the Vermentino, and the Red Crowded was yummy with the roast beef and horseradish. Lots of laughs and fun was had by all. Put a spring in your step and join us for upcoming events right in the neighborhood. Social Committee
