4 SOLERA DIAMOND VALLEY | APRIL 2020 Concierge Corner Concierge Corner MEMORIAL DAY BBQ & CHILI COOK-OFF MEMORIAL DAY BBQ & CHILI COOK-OFF MONDAY, MAY 25 • 10:30 AM - 3 PM MONDAY, MAY 25 • 10:30 AM - 3 PM By Teri Collett, Concierge It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know the residents of Solera Diamond Valley. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to welcome me, I am truly privileged to be a part of the Solera Diamond Valley team. In an effort to assist the community the best way I can, I would like to share a few tips: If you would like to discuss anything with management, it is recommended that you please make an appointment through the concierge, thus helping our office operate efficiently and saving yourself a little time. For any person, club, group, or committee needing assistance with copying or printing it would be greatly appreciated by office staff if you submitted your printing job request at least 24 hours in advance. All forms are available at the front desk and the flyer rack across from the gym. Thank you for your cooperation in helping our office work for your community in an efficient and respectful manner. I look forward to serving this community and working with all of you to make it as enjoyable as possible. The Veterans & friends will be selling food and prize tickets for this year's annual event. The Vets will be in The Lodge Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 12 pm. All tickets are $1/ticket donation. The menu will include hamburgers, sausages, hot dogs, veggie burgers, chips, cookies, drinks, and chili tasting. Invite your friends and family and join us in a fun day food, games, and prize giveaways. By Minio Garcia, Board President Questions from Homeowners recently: "What is the protocol for conducting meetings?" When the Board was established, continuing through today, Robert's Rules Of Orders Newly Revised (Currently 11th Edition, 2011) are used to conduct all meetings within SDV association, including Executive, Open Session, Committee and Club meetings. It may seem confusing at times, but we must follow areas of the Civil Code as we announce and conduct meetings. "What is the process conducted for filling vacant Director positions?" As indicated in the SDV Governing Documents and SDV By-Laws, Section 2.6 VACANCIES, the appointment may be filled by a vote of a majority of the remaining Directors. This information is located in the new Solera Diamond Valley Community Association website, under Governing Documents, By-Laws, page 8. All the Directors, including myself, are looking forward to being able to answer ongoing questions from our Homeowners throughout the month. Solera Diamond Valley Bags You may have spotted one of these beautiful SDV bags around "The Island." These are the totes that the Welcome Committee presents to each new resident. They are gaining popularity as more and more are appearing around Campus. We have made these bags available for purchase to all residents for only $5 (checks only). Please contact the front desk for yours. President's Message
